As a Junior Outbound Sales Representative will be responsible for executing outbound sales activities aimed at upselling, cross-selling, and winning back customers. As a contractor you will work 75% of the time in an outbound sales capacity and 25% in an inside sales capacity. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Cross-sell during Migration
    • Target Audience: Focus on migrating customers to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional products and services.
    • Outbound Dialing:
      • Execute high-volume outbound calls to existing customers in the process of migrating to upsell additional products and services.
      • Conduct discovery calls to understand customer needs, challenges, and potential fit for additional offerings.
    • Sales Process:
      • Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact through to contract close/won, including follow-up, proposal generation, and negotiation.
    • Documentation & Reporting:
      • Accurately document all sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline progress in the CRM system.
      • Provide weekly reports on outbound sales activities, progress toward targets, and closed/won deals.
  • Expansion to Current Customers 
    • Target Audience: Focus on expanding sales to additional locations, new services (e.g., SIP > Hosted), and upselling/cross-selling products.
    • Outbound Dialing:
      • Conduct outbound calls to former customers to win back business 
      • Explore opportunities to expand services to additional locations.
      • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling existing customers based on their current product usage and business needs.
    • Sales Process:
      • Lead the sales process from discovery through to contract close/won, ensuring customer satisfaction and alignment with their needs.
    • Documentation & Reporting:
      • Keep detailed records of sales activities, interactions, and outcomes in the CRM system.
      • Submit regular updates on sales progress, win-back success, and upsell/cross-sell performance.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in outbound sales, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing deals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and articulate the value of products/services.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage sales activities, track progress, and report results.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and tailor sales pitches to align with their business goals.
  • Driven to meet and exceed sales targets with minimal supervision.
  • High School Diploma (Minimum): A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred): A degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant coursework or certifications in sales, marketing, or customer relationship management can be beneficial. 
  • Entry-Level Sales Experience: 2 years of prior experience in sales, customer service, or a related field is highly advantageous. This could include internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer work that involved customer interaction, sales, or lead generation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the SaaS, ideally VoIP, with the ability to quickly grasp complex product features and market dynamics.
  • Prospecting Skills: Ability to research and identify potential customers, initiate contact, and generate leads through various channels (e.g., phone calls, emails, social media).
  • Cold Calling: Comfort with and willingness to engage in cold calling and outbound sales activities. The ability to handle rejection and persistently follow up with leads.
  • Sales Pitch Development: Basic ability to craft and deliver compelling sales pitches tailored to the needs and pain points of different customer segments.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a sales team, collaborating with colleagues and sharing insights to achieve common goals.
  • Proficiency in Office Software: Basic proficiency Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for managing communications, presentations, and data.
  • Familiarity with Sales Tools: Any experience with sales tools like email tracking software, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or sales automation tools is a plus.

Compensation and Payment Terms

  • Rate: $30/hr with commission of 1x of MRR closed
  • Hourly Payment: Paid bi-monthly upon submission of an invoice and approval of hours worked.
  • Commission Payment: Paid monthly based on invoice schedule for closed/won opportunities, with payment occurring the month following first invoice.
