About the Project:Our client is a leading force in the media and entertainment industry. We're seeking a skilled Python backend engineer to contribute to take ownership of key initiatives for our client's streaming and media handling platforms. You’ll be part of a remote-first team building scalable backend services that support the core media infrastructure.
This is a high-impact, remote-first role within a collaborative team that values innovation, autonomy, and end-to-end ownership.
Your Role in the TeamAs a Senior Python Backend Engineer, you’ll take ownership of features and architecture, work on cloud infrastructure, and co-create in an environment that thrives on code reviews, pair programming, and test-first development. Your typical day might include:
Building and refining scalable backend systems using Python
Designing infrastructure on AWS and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines
Writing clean, tested code that supports millions of users worldwide
Collaborating closely with a global, diverse team of engineers
Advocating for best practices, continuous improvement, and thoughtful architecture
Showcasing your work in regular demos, and giving and receiving feedback
You have strong Python experience and have built backend services using Django
You’re familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and tools like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation
You understand how to ship code with confidence—through CI/CD, testing, and monitoring
You’re comfortable with Docker, Kubernetes, and scalable system design
You know your way around relational and schema-less databases
You bring a collaborative spirit and love helping others grow
Bonus points if you’ve dabbled in Go or Node.js, or have experience with GraphQL and gRPC.
