🩺 Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant

Southern Health Partners has been a leader in correctional healthcare for more than 30 years. We're seeking a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality medical care at the Cleveland County Jail. This flexible opportunity is ideal for an experienced provider looking to supplement their practice while making a meaningful difference in an underserved patient population.
🩺 What You'll Do- Conduct routine medical evaluations and address acute healthcare concerns
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients within your scope of practice
- Provide chronic disease management and appropriate follow-up care
- Review nursing assessments, laboratory results, and diagnostic findings
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with facility protocols and state regulations
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
- Provide clinical guidance and support to the onsite healthcare team
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation
- Promote quality improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with correctional healthcare standards
- Current, unrestricted North Carolina license as a Physician (MD/DO), Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
- Current DEA registration (if applicable to licensure)
- Active BLS certification
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Correctional, emergency, family practice, or primary care experience is preferred but not required
