The Role

CCSU Contract Manager

As part of their environmental objective to reach a neutral carbon footprint in 2050, our client has launched several carbon capture and sequestration projects in Greece and Croatia that have been awarded grants from the European Funds.

Other Eastern European countries are currently proceeding with feasibility studies and applications to the European Funds for similar projects.

Our client is looking for a Contract Manager for the above projects (and other projects in Eastern Europe). He/She will be accountable for the proper execution and result of the bidder qualification process, Tendering, bid analysis and recommendation, Contract negotiation, Contract formation and Contract administration.

As a Contract Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing contracting activities to ensure the seamless operation of our projects. Your responsibilities will encompass sourcing, vendor and contractor qualification, call for tender preparation, bid analysis and recommendation, contract negotiations, contract formation and contracts administration until their closing.

The contracting scope includes:

Service Contract (Engineering, Permitting, Services),

  • EP with assistance on Site Contract for the Carbon Capture plant,
  • EP or EPC Contract for the retrofit of the cement plant or for some technological package,
  • Construction subcontracting for the works (either multidisciplinary or per discipline) and PCC operation
  • Procurement of process equipment.

The job will be based:

  • for the first 2 - 3 years: in Lyon with mission in Greece and Croatia or in Athens with missions in France (Lyon & Paris) & Croatia,
  • Then at the Company's Plant in Milaki Greece during the construction phase.

He will report to the Head of CCSU project for Eastern Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers / contractors to ensure timely delivery of services, equipment, and works while maintaining quality standards and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify and prequalify potential suppliers and contractors, conduct market analysis, and evaluate vendors / contractors’ capabilities to optimize the sourcing strategy and reduce procurement costs.
  • Preparation of the call for tender packages, tendering, conducting bid clarification, issuing bid recommendation to management for final decision,
  • Contract Negotiation and formation: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including scope, price, delivery schedules, security package and liabilities risks mitigation and maximize value for the organization,
  • Administration of the contracts until its close out including progress follow up, inspection, payment, contract enforcement, claim management… in close coordination with the project director, the technical team and finance department,
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal requirement, company policies, industry regulations and ethical standards in all procurement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in tendering, procurement of equipment, contracting construction works, and contract administration, preferably in the cement or heavy process industries or industrial engineering company in an international environment,
  • Knowledge of the construction market in Europe,
  • Strong negotiation and administration skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Proficiency in contract formation and contract administration,
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability in stakeholders’ management,
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
