Our Journey

ShopBack was born one night in 2014 when co-founders Henry and Joel were toying around (with entrepreneurial ideas) in Henry's car, sparking the concept of earning Cashback while shopping online. The ShopBack Group has now grown to become the leading shopping, rewards, and payments platform in Asia-Pacific, with 45 million shoppers across 12 markets and more than half a million transactions powered for 20,000 partners daily. Fresh off its debut in the European market, ShopBack is seeking thrill-seekers to join the journey of building The World's Most Rewarding Way to Shop. Get ready for the ride of a lifetime: a blend of startup spirit woven into a solid business foundation.

About the role

As the Localisation Project Coordinator on the Product Design team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the content in our products is appropriately adapted for diverse international audiences through localisation, enhancing our global reach and impact.

You’ll be responsible for managing localisation projects across multiple teams, guaranteeing timely execution and maintaining high-quality standards. You’ll not only support our market expansion initiatives but also serve clear and delightful localised content to our existing markets. You’ll also be in charge of resolving any linguistic bugs raised by the local teams or our users.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a strong background and knowledge in project management, a basic understanding of the product localisation processes, and exceptional cross-functional communication skills. Most importantly, you must have a passion for localisation and clearly understand its value.

Your Adventure Ahead

  • Project management: Support the Localisation Manager to manage all aspects of localisation projects, from resource allocation, check/send/receive projects, to timeline management. Coordinate with Design, Product, Engineering and Legal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of localised content from the external vendor.
  • Quality assurance: Enforce quality standards for localised content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance across all languages with the Localisation Manager. Collaborate with subject matter experts from the local on-site teams to validate localised content from vendors.
  • Technology adoption: Leverage tools and technologies, such as computer-assisted translation tools and AI, to further streamline processes, increase efficiency, and achieve cost sustainability. Stay updated on industry trends and recommend innovative solutions to improve workflows.
  • Reporting and analytics: Collect data and prepare reports on localisation performance, project statuses and costs to enable decisions on process and expenditure optimisation.
  • Advocacy and representation: You and the Localisation Manager work as a team to advocate for internationalisation and localisation in all aspects of our business and to show that they’re essential to extending our reach and improving the customer experience.

Essentials to Succeed

  • 3+ years experience working in translation, localisation and/or project coordinating-related roles.
  • Experience managing content, translation or other service vendors.
  • A clear understanding of localisation processes, quality assurance practice and the e-commerce, reward and/or fintech industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in diverse cross-functional product teams developing website and mobile app products.
  • Experience using computer-assisted translation tools (CAT) and translation management systems (TMS).
  • Have basic knowledge of using AI supporting localisation.
  • Strong work ethic and effective collaborative teamwork.
  • Advanced proficiency in English, with additional language skills considered a plus.
  • Project management certification is a plus.
