Job Overview:

As a Contract and Compliance Specialist at TMA, you will play a vital role in managing our contract repository, overseeing template agreements, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. You will collaborate with various departments within the agency to facilitate efficient contract management processes and mitigate risks associated with contract negotiations. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of contract law and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the contract repository and ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of all contracts.
  • Maintain template agreements for various client engagements, including master service agreements, statements of work, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to review, draft, and negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, and partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-process inquiries and facilitate communication between stakeholders.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance to ensure adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with contractual agreements and propose solutions to mitigate exposure.
  • Coordinate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate invoicing and payment processing in accordance with contract terms.
  • Stay informed about company policy, and changes in contract law and industry regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract management best practices and procedures.
  • Partner cross functionally to maintain and enforce company policies and standards.
  • Track and maintain department metrics for contract workload.
  • Stay informed of relevant regulatory and industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in contract management experience in a marketing agency or similar environment is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as candidate will be required to coordinate effectively with various departments, develop and prepare coordinated responses, interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and document their work and findings.
  • Ability to work and solve problems independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills, both internal and external.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Suite.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and legal principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM, CFCM)
  • Ability to analyze and interpret contract and statutory language as well as state and local government policies to identify compliance obligations and risks.
