Description

 We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable Contract Administrator / Project Cost Accounting professional. This position will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and accounting personnel to ensure contracts, costs, billing, and payments are accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review contract/subcontract documents
  • Track and file documents from creation to execution
  • Maintain project contract database 
  • Integrate subcontracts into accounting system 
  • Perform project cost analysis, including tracking labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Compare actual cost to budgeted cost
  • Ensure project costs are applied appropriately
  • Reconcile project costs and resolve discrepancies.
  • Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, customers, and accounting personnel
  • Perform other accounting, contract administration, and project-support duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Construction accounting, project accounting, contract administration, or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, numbers, and financial records.
  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Construction industry and/or subcontractor experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  

The incumbent in this position can typically expect to sit and use his/her hands to handle and feel for more than 2/3 of the day. He/She can expect to stand or walk for more than 1/3 of the day. Talking and listening is also expected for more than 2/3 of the day. The ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be needed for less than 1/3 of the day.

The incumbent in this position should have clear vision at 20 inches or less. He/She should be able to view various reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different colors. Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus and the ability to see for a distance are also necessary.
