Hexcel is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Co-Op for our Pottsville, PA, USA location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
Utilize Lean Manufacturing Tools to increase productivity. (6S, Visual Workplace, VSM, Kanban, Kaizen, SMED, Mistake Proofing, etc.)
Create Value Stream Maps (VSMs) and identify areas of improvement. (8 Wastes)
Work closely with production, engineering, and quality to identify, create, and implement Mistake Proofing (Poka Yoke) devices.
Participate as an active member of Kaizen events to rapidly improve processes.
Actively engage in Root Cause Problem Solving teams (RCCA) and execute necessary countermeasures.
Develop, maintain and/or improve Visual Workplace tools.
Draw / revise plant layouts to increase flow and eliminate waste.
Support Safety initiatives to increase awareness and reduce risk.
Qualifications:
Field of study: industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering or technology related fields.
Previous experience in a Lean manufacturing environment a plus.
Solid verbal and written communication skills are required, PC and AutoCAD / Visio skills preferred.
Candidate must have ability to work with teams to define problems and solve problems.
Must have solid organization skills and be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
