Location: For this role we are open to remote work located anywhere within the United States or Canada.

About the Opportunity:

The Technical Content Developer is primarily responsible for producing end-user and system documentation for multiple products, as well as producing release notes that document notable user experience changes, new products or features, and issues resolved in each release of the software. This role works closely with Software Developers, QA Analysts, and Product Managers throughout the development process to ensure documentation is accurate and complete. We are looking for someone that is inquisitive, takes the time to understand the stakeholders and can produce engaging, effective product documentation for a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will be joining an incredible team of collaborative, engaging & inclusive technical content writers!

What you'll get to do:

  • Write customer-facing descriptions of new features and resolved issues for the release notes by reading available design documentation, communicating with development teams, and verifying new functionality in the application
  • Create new and update existing end-user and system documentation to reflect the new features and functionality added in each release
  • Lead and actively champion initiatives to improve documentation quality and processes Advocate the end-user's experience in all product and documentation discussions



Skills and Experience we value:

  • Open to all academic backgrounds, but having a Degree or Diploma in Technical Writing is an asset.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills are needed to understand the needs of stakeholders and to produce accurate & engaging content to a variety of stakeholders. Experience producing software documentation while adhering to a style guide to ensure brand consistency is an asset.
  • Experience developing and implementing documentation procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Experience using single-sourcing documentation tools, such as Madcap Flare/Oxygen/XMetal/Arbortext is an asset.
  • Data-driven approach to prioritization of writing efforts and validation of results (ROI). Ability to read front end code, including JavaScript and JSON, HTML, and CSS is an asset.
  • Experience documenting business applications, such as CRM or CPQ is an asset.
  • An inquisitive mindset, a drive to learn and adaptability are important characteristics in the role
