About the the Role:

We are looking for a talented Technical Content Writer to become a part of our growing team and help us build cutting-edge product documentation and technical content infrastructure for RudderStack.

*Our roles are remote first, and can be based anywhere in the US (#LI-Remote).

What you'll do:

You will create and maintain product-centred technical documentation, including API documentation, brochures, and articles. This content will be designed to drive and simplify product adoption and usability for our customers, data engineers, or anyone interested in our product.

Specifically, your job responsibilities will include the following:

  • Producing lucid and accurate technical software documentation, including user manuals, developer guides, integration guides, API documentation, and documents on product-specific features.
  • Collaborating with the product managers and the engineering team to better understand the product features and requirements.
  • Gathering and incorporating the feedback on the documentation as suggested by product managers, engineering teams, and customers.
  • Maintaining the documentation and other forms of technical content to ensure that it is always up-to-date and technically accurate.
  • Managing and maintaining the documentation infrastructure.
  • Managing and overseeing the tasks performed by the technical writers in the team.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience (preferably 7+ years) in writing software and API documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Knowledge of Simplified Technical English (STE) will be a bonus.
  • Strong technical background with exposure to programming languages like JavaScript, Python, etc.
  • Ability to quickly understand product features and translate this understanding into high-quality technical content.
  • People and process management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
