About the Team
The Business Development team at VIZIO is looking for an Associate Director, Content Acquisitions to join us. Reporting to the Director of Content Acquisitions, you will lead deal negotiations for FAST, AVOD and Curated Channels partnerships. Using a data-based approach, the Associate Director will provide deal valuation and go/no-go analysis, manage VIZIO's content pipeline, and work closely with other members of the team to drive VIZIO's content strategy.
The Associate Director will be a deal closer and a point of contact for all business questions related to VIZIO's ad-supported content business. The Associate Director will thrive in a high volume, collaborative, fast-paced environment and is able to discuss VIZIO's CA strategy easily and succinctly to team members and senior management with the main goal of driving high level business decisions.
The Associate Director will build strong relationships with VIZIO's content partners to ensure VIZIO is up to date on all available and newly arriving content. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure Content Acquisitions is well informed on the programming needs of the organization related to programming stunts, marketing initiatives, content gaps, best performers, etc.
This is a highly visible role on a dynamic, growing, and high-impact team at VIZIO. The ideal candidate will have a passion for partnerships, deals, and monetization.
What You Will Do

  • Manage deal generation and negotiation with content partners for FAST, AVOD, and Curated Channels.
  • Work with Director of CA to generate acquisition roadmap based on content needs.
  • Redline and work with Legal to turn drafts during a negotiation.
  • Manage incoming content avails and selection process for AVOD and Curated Channels.
  • Manage sales efforts, deal generation and negotiation with external platform or services partners for VIZIO content properties.
  • Utilize VIZIO data to identify best/worst performers to determine best practices and new initiatives; present to content partners.
  • Various ad hoc and strategic focused requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.


About You

  • You have experience in direct deal negotiations specifically content licensing, relationship management, and partnership valuation.
  • You have 8+ years in Business Development experience in in-licensing and out-licensing content, preferably for an ad-supported content provider and/or platform, and strategic sales planning with demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and developing new business lines while achieving measurable goals.
  • You have relationships with various content providers including major studios.
  • You have experience in contract negotiations and content licensing terms including minimum guarantees, various fees structures, unique and exclusive content, and windowing rights.
  • You have strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills to executive team and C-Suite.
  • You have excellent cross-functional leadership skills.
  • You are proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Office products.
  • Clear written and oral communication.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with data management and analytics teams to generate new and necessary analyses and reporting for management presentations.
  • Experience with reviewing content avails and evaluating content for CTV platform.
  • Experience with programming strategies and key KPIs that drive success proliferation and retention of audiences.

For California-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $ 106,000 /year. The maximum salary for this position $ 148,000 / year. The compensation package includes the annual bonus in addition to a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
