The Team - The Brand Expression team defines, maintains, and expands the Thunder brand. As a creative partner to the various departments within the Thunder organization, we supply creative solutions, language, and design support for a wide variety of campaigns, using central brands and visual themes that help the Oklahoma City Thunder and Oklahoma City Blue basketball teams connect with our fans locally and around the globe.
The Role - As a content strategist, you are independently proactive and highly collaborative, a storytelling connector between the Thunder and Blue brands. You are experienced in the creative process, skilled at finding the story within a brief, and confident communicating ideas from the earliest stages through execution. You are responsible for developing content strategies, narrative positioning, campaign platforms, and concept presentations across multiple projects. You will partner with designers, editors, producers, and stakeholders to shape ideas, clarify objectives, and build creative solutions that meet the needs of our brand and audiences. This role has variety, and you will help tell the story of our brand through content that is thoughtful, distinctive, and meaningful.
In this role you will:

Manage personal workflow and multiple projects while meeting with team members to understand insights, objectives, and audience needs

Translate business and marketing objectives into content strategies, narrative frameworks, creative briefs, and compelling concepts

Generate and develop big ideas for campaigns, brand moments, social content, video, editorial projects, and other storytelling opportunities

Pitch creative concepts and narratives through presentation decks, verbal presentations, and other strategic communication tools

Develop early-stage conceptual work, including campaign platforms, messaging territories, storyboards, treatments, mood boards, and sample copy, to help communicate and advance ideas

Conduct, organize, and synthesize research to identify relevant cultural, audience, brand, and industry insights

Partner with designers, editors, producers, and cross-functional teams to guide ideas from concept through execution

Help establish clear narrative positioning, content architecture, and messaging systems that can scale across platforms and campaigns

What you’ll bring to the role:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work or military experience valued

3–5 years of creative content, strategy, copywriting, editorial, brand, marketing, or related experience in a professional setting preferred

Strong understanding of emerging media, content formats, audience behaviors, and industry trends

Additional Details:
This is a full-time hourly position reporting to the Manager, Creative Content. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., and schedule may include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. The primary work location is the Thunder corporate office at Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City.
