About Float

Float is on a mission to simplify finance for Canadian businesses, empowering them to eliminate complexity and unlock new opportunities. Through our innovative platform, Float enables businesses to streamline financial operations and optimize cash flow, so they can focus on what matters most: growth.

As one of Canada’s fastest growing companies and top-rated startups in 2025, 2024 and 2023, Float is customer-obsessed, passionate and entrepreneurial, with a team that includes leaders from Uber, Stripe, Shopify, Top Hat, Ada, Doordash, Snowflake, and Wealthsimple.

At Float, everyone is an owner, bringing their unique perspective to our team and product. Your voice is important, and we take having a culture based on feedback seriously. We openly share our thoughts and differing opinions so we can continue to improve. We do our best to keep our decision-making decentralized so that all team members feel ownership in our success.

Our Product

Float is Canada’s intelligent financial operating system, combining modern financial services and software to help businesses spend, save, and grow. Trusted by more than 10,000 Canadian companies, Float provides high-limit corporate cards, automated expense management, next-day bill payments, high-yield accounts, and industry-leading support, all built in Canada, for Canada. Float recently announced our $85 million Series C, and is backed by world-class investors, including Inovia Capital, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, OMERS Ventures, and Silicon Valley Bank.

Our team is a collection of ambitious, collaborative and mission-driven people from all walks of life but with one goal: helping Canadian companies not just survive but thrive. And we’re looking for bold innovators to help shape the future of business finance in Canada.

AI Use in Our Hiring Process

We use technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), to support parts of our hiring process. This may include AI-assisted scheduling and candidate communications, and AI-generated interview notes, guides or summaries to help our team focus on the conversation. All hiring decisions are made by our hiring team.

About the Role

Float's Marketing team is hiring a Content Marketing Manager to grow our brand across Canada by creating, distributing, and amplifying exceptional content for the founders and finance teams behind the country’s fastest-growing companies.

Reporting to our Content & Communications Lead, you'll own our organic social channels, run the content calendar, and execute on content creation across multiple formats. We're looking for someone with strong creative instincts and a sharp sense of what performs on each platform (and why). You are the right fit if you’re excited about using AI to build new workflows and achieve an outsized impact without leaning into slop. Above all, you can craft a compelling story and tell it in any format.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Produce multi-format content: build pillar pieces on what Canadian finance teams care about, then cut them into video, social, written, and email assets.

  • Build and grow Float's presence across organic channels including YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Reddit, and blog.

  • Drive the content calendar and cadence across channels, partnering with Growth Marketing so output drives acquisition and conversion, not just volume.

  • Run video production end to end: set the strategy and point of view, then plan, shoot, and cut it yourself.

  • Build and document AI workflows for research, scripting, editing, and repurposing.

  • Test new formats and angles, partner with our designer on the visual system, and let results decide where your effort goes.

What You'll Bring
  • Around 5 years of experience in content marketing, video production, or social content, ideally in B2B SaaS.

  • Demonstrated experience building and growing a video-first social presence, with YouTube experience strongly preferred. We'll want to see the channel and the results.

  • Proven comfort shooting and editing social-first video end to end: you can plan a shoot, run an interview, and cut it yourself.

  • Strong writing and editing ability, including the judgment to edit AI drafts and make them sharper.

  • A repurposing instinct: evidence that you can build one substantial asset and get real distribution out of it across multiple channels.

  • Practical AI fluency at the workflow level, with concrete examples of how you've used it to improve speed, quality, or experimentation.

  • Experience growing a brand in the Canadian market. Fintech or finance-adjacent experience is a strong plus.

  • Candidates must be based in Toronto to support regular in-person video creation.

This May Not Be the Role for You If
  • You want to stay on strategy and hand production to an agency or a videographer.

  • Your video experience is limited to briefing others rather than shooting and editing yourself.

  • You're strongest in long-form written content and aren't genuinely interested in video and social media work.

  • You want a large team or a narrow specialty rather than a broad, hands-on creator seat.

  • You haven't meaningfully integrated AI into how you work.

  • You're uncomfortable being on camera or directing others who are.

  • You prefer stable, set-and-forget processes over changing how the work gets done.

Our Hiring Philosophy

We hire for character, curiosity, and learning velocity before credentials. Titles matter less than impact, and every hire is expected to raise the bar for Float as a whole.
