The Content Developer/Writer is responsible for end-to-end content marketing to engage all relevant audiences related to business spend management, including practitioners and executive audieneces from Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain and IT. This includes content strategy, content creation, and editorial excellence to support the appeal and advocacy of the Coupa brand.

What you will do:


  • Essential Job Functions:

  • The Content Developer/Writer will be expected to maintain journalistic skills and subject matter expertise in the areas of Procurement, Finance, and Supply Chain including but not limited to industry trends, enabling technologies, and business processes and workflows, as well as the priorities and challenges of targeted audiences. 
  • This role would advocate for and implement assets including messaging, campaigns, e-books, articles, blogs, website content, customer/partner marketing, events, social media, and sales enablement.
  • This role will ensure that all content consistently aligns to Coupa brand-level messaging and the content supporting innumerable marketing initiatives occurring across the company.
  • As part of the content marketing team, this highly collaborative role will singularly represent procurement across all internal and external stakeholders, including Coupa marketing team members, product specialists, and executives, as well as third-party agencies. 
  • Success will be achieved through journalistic curiosity, executional excellence and command of voice, driving personalization that generates demand. 

  • Strategic Stewardship:

  • Develop, maintain, and promote a deep understanding of Coupa within assigned industry category (i.e., Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain) – from thought leadership to platform capabilities to products and their specific features.

  • Execution Excellence:

  • Maintain executional rigor to ensure a fluid content development approach, keeping a close eye on industry competitors to promote constant, ongoing differentiation.

  • Performance Measurement:

  • Craft and monitor the effectiveness of Coupa’s voice in the procurement space with continued growth and optimization.

What you will bring to Coupa:


  • Qualities and Qualifications:

  • Industry-specific writing expertise (marketing, journalism) 
  • Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain experience and topical expertise 
  • Integrated marketing expertise and creative problem-solving skills—global experience ideal
  • Effective and personable, demonstrating passion, objectivity, and poise under pressure.
  • Engaging motivational skills as a presenter and communicator
  • Self-starter with excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel.

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field required.
  • 5+ years of agency or corporate marketing content experience.
  • Technology marketing background, specifically in SaaS.
  • Procurement-specific and/or FinTech-specific writing experience. 
  • Demonstrable and portable content development experience.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:


•Based in Washington: $109,650 - 129,000


The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
