Greenwheels is Kenya’s leading electric motorcycle lease-to-own company and Uber’s official electric boda partner in Nairobi, with additional operations in Ghana and Uganda.
Our drivers work towards owning their motorcycle over a two-year lease while earning daily income on the Uber platform. We are scaling fast, backed by a strong leadership team and building a more accessible and sustainable future for urban mobility.
This is an opportunity to join a growing electric mobility company and play a key role in shaping how Greenwheels is seen and heard by thousands of riders across Nairobi.
Thousands of Greenwheels bikes move through Nairobi every day, and our social channels do not yet show it. There is a story here that ought to be one of the most watchable things on Kenyan TikTok — riders who end up owning their motorcycle, a fleet going electric, and a city changing — and telling it well is how a boda rider first hears our name.
This is the company’s content function, not a sales channel. You make what every part of acquisition needs in order to go and find customers — the ads that run on Meta and TikTok, the material our field team uses at stages, the decks partnerships puts in front of SACCOs, and the explainers that help a driver understand what they are signing up for — and you own the Greenwheels presence on social: what we publish, how we sound, and how we answer the people who talk to us there.
The work is allocated rather than requested. Each month, the Customer Acquisition Manager agrees how production is split between the channels, and that allocation holds. You are not fielding competing demands; you are running a production plan and protecting the quality of what comes out of it.
- Own the Greenwheels presence on organic social: what we publish across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, how often, and in what voice. This channel is yours.
- Produce the creative for paid campaigns. A Meta or TikTok ad is only as good as the asset inside it — develop the concepts, write the hooks, shoot and cut the video, design the simpler assets yourself, and work with our graphic designer on the bigger pieces. You make the assets; the campaigns they run in are managed separately.
- Keep paid creative fresh. Ads tire quickly. Read performance by asset with the Telesales Lead and replace what has stopped working rather than waiting for a scheduled refresh.
- Produce for the other functions to the monthly allocation: field activation material, partner and SACCO decks, referral campaign assets, and the explainers the registration desk uses.
- Run the monthly production plan. Agree the allocation with the Customer Acquisition Manager, publish a calendar against it, and deliver to it.
- Tell the driver story. Our best material is our own riders: what they earn, the day the lease ends and the bike is theirs, and what changed at home. Find those stories and film them.
- Run the community. Keep comments and DMs answered quickly and in the right voice, driver WhatsApp groups active, and recognize the riders who champion us online.
- Capture what the channel generates: every serious enquiry from social logged as a prospect with the source recorded at entry and handed to the right channel lead while it is still warm. You capture; they convert.
- Hold the brand. Maintain one voice across everything acquisition puts out, so that a rider who sees an ad, meets a DSR and then walks into our office meets the same company three times.
- Recruit and coach a small team, starting with a Social Media Associate and growing as the function’s output justifies.
- Allocation delivered: The month’s agreed production shipped, on time, to each function.
- Creative effectiveness in paid: Click-through and cost per lead by asset, and how long an ad stays effective before it tires.
- Organic channel health: Audience growth, engagement, and the reach of what you publish.
- Prospects captured from social and handed over: Volume of serious prospects captured and response time on comments, DMs, and community channels.
- Quality of the work: Reviewed with the Customer Acquisition Manager against a standard agreed in your first month.
Requirements
- 3–5 years creating content and running social channels for a consumer brand in Kenya, with a body of work you can show us.
- You shoot and edit yourself — phone-first video, short-form, and an instinct for what travels on Kenyan TikTok.
- Hands-on graphic design. You can build a clean social post, a poster, a simple motion graphic or a partner deck yourself in Canva or the equivalent — Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, CapCut — without waiting on anyone. Most of what we publish should not need a designer at all.
- Experience making creative for paid social, not only organic. You understand why an ad that worked last month has stopped working.
- For the bigger pieces, you can art-direct as well as make: brief a graphic designer properly, give feedback they can use, and hold a consistent look across a campaign.
- You can run a production plan — commit to a month of output, deliver it, and decline what is not in it.
- You read analytics as a working tool: you know which post brought customers, not only which one got views.
- Fluent Swahili and English, with a natural ear for how riders actually talk. Sheng where it fits.
- Real comfort in the boda community. You will spend proper time at stages with a camera.
- Advanced design or motion work — After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator or the equivalent — beyond what Canva can do.
- Hands-on with Meta and TikTok Ads Manager. You will not be buying the media, but understanding how it is bought makes you better at making what runs in it.
- Experience as an in-house creative serving several internal teams, or agency experience running multiple accounts at once.
- Mobility, boda, PAYG or asset finance background; familiarity with Nairobi’s stage and SACCO landscape.
A competitive base salary. This role carries no sales commission, deliberately — you do not control a conversion number, and we would rather pay properly for the craft than tie your income to someone else’s close rate.
Beyond that: a brand with a genuinely good story and very little of it told so far, a graphic designer to work with, and the freedom to own how Greenwheels looks and sounds in public.
