- Job Title Senior DevOps Engineer – Platform Engineering Role Overview We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design and operate scalable cloud platforms with a strong focus on Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), Developer Platforms using Backstage, and infrastructure automation using Python and Shell scripting. Key Requirement Strong design and hands-on implementation experience in building Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) using Backstage to improve developer productivity, service discovery, and platform automation. ________________________________________ Responsibilities IDP Architecture & Design • Design and implement Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) to enable self-service infrastructure and application deployment. • Architect scalable Backstage-based developer portals integrating infrastructure, CI/CD, and cloud services. • Define platform standards, golden paths, and reusable templates for engineering teams. Backstage Implementation • Deploy and configure Backstage in Kubernetes environments. • Develop and customize: o Backstage plugins o Software templates o Service catalog o TechDocs documentation • Integrate Backstage with engineering tools such as: o CI/CD pipelines o EKS clusters o Source control platforms Platform Automation • Build automation workflows enabling developers to: o Create services o Provision infrastructure o Deploy applications • Implement self-service workflows using Backstage scaffolder templates. Kubernetes & Platform Integration • Integrate Backstage with Kubernetes platforms such as Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service(EKS). • Enable visibility into: o Services o Deployments o Environments o Observability metrics o Security Developer Experience • Improve developer experience (DevEx) by simplifying application onboarding and deployment. • Create standardized development workflows across teams. • Maintain service ownership and metadata through Backstage catalog. ________________________________________ Required Experience • Hands-on 5+ years’ experience implementing Backstage developer portals in production. • Experience designing Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) for engineering organizations. • Experience integrating Backstage with: o Kubernetes platforms o CI/CD pipelines o Infrastructure automation • Strong understanding of platform engineering and developer experience principles.
