The US Federal Governments Markets Division is chartered with being the premier, compliant supplier of world-class communications solutions to the U.S. Federal Government by providing the highest quality products, systems and services. The Federal Cybersecurity Team is responsible for supporting security compliance and services for US Federal Government customers worldwide. The Cybersecurity Consultant assist federal customers, development organizations and third party vendors with meeting demanding and ever evolving security requirements to insure Motorola Solutions products and systems are available in the moments that matter most!
Job Description

** This position is to support our U.S. Federal Customers world wide. Applicants must be comfortable with a minimum of 50% travel (International and Domestic) **

Candidates for this position will be responsible for working with our customers to meet their ongoing regulatory compliance and continuous monitoring requirements. This role requires a blend of high-level technical execution and administrative coordination to ensure all long-term contractual milestones and security standards are met.

Candidates should be able to:

  • Tactfully and courteously interface with customers in order to build strong relationships
  • Coordinate activities to ensure compliance to all contractual requirements
  • Apply security updates including patching, custom GPO’s and creating/running scripts
  • Perform remediation and mitigation planning and implementation
  • Prepare documentation and artifacts for customers as required
  • Analyze and document events in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrate a self-starter mindset, assuming responsibility and remaining adaptive, flexible, and resourceful in a results-oriented environment
  • Manage multiple tasks concurrently using strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of IT Systems including Windows and UNIX platforms
  • Solid experience with Information Technology Systems, communication networks, and network security concepts
  • Understanding of Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Knowledge of firewalls and router access control lists
  • Familiarity with DoD auditing and scanning techniques
  • Possesses relevant technical or cyber certifications (preferred): Security+, Network+, CISM, etc.
  • Preferred location: San Diego (Southern California, West Coast, Western US)
  • Scripting experience is a plus
  • RF experience and/or knowledge is a plus

Candidate Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s)

Target Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

  • Bachelors degree OR 1+ years of experience with one or more of the following: Cybersecurity, Information Systems, LMR, Radio Communications, Motorola equipment, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, Networking Equipment, IP Networking, Solutions Architecture, ASTRO 25, P25, WAVE VoIP, or Military experience
