Role Title: Consultant - Transformation & Operations (T&O) Portfolio Management
(Title can be adjusted depending on grade)
Role Overview
This role supports senior T&O leadership across portfolio masterplanning, process design and mapping, quality assurance deep dives, and strategic resourcing. The position plays a critical role in strengthening delivery discipline, cross-program coordination, governance assurance, and operational efficiency across large-scale transformation programmes.
The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, analytical rigor, and the ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Masterplan & Schedule Management
Support the Head of T&O Program Masterplan & Schedule Management in resolving cross-program conflicts, managing dependencies, and optimizing delivery sequencing to reduce bottlenecks and improve throughput.
Key activities include:
- Facilitate daily and weekly cross-program forums; prepare and maintain clear minutes of meetings (MoMs) and action trackers.
- Create, maintain, and enhance portfolio-level artefacts (e.g. portfolio masterplan, concentration risk analysis, impact assessments) on a monthly basis to support T&O Management, Investment Committees, and business stakeholders.
- Coordinate bank-wide outreach initiatives to resolve scheduling conflicts and collect or validate data for trend and impact analysis.
- Conduct scenario analysis on an as-needed basis to assess risks, implications, and recommended mitigation strategies.
- Explore and implement automation solutions to improve the efficiency and accuracy of portfolio masterplan compilation.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior stakeholders to enable timely issue resolution and effective communication.
- Provide ad-hoc support to T&O Management Teams and strategic programmes, including responses to regulatory requests.
- Process Design & Mapping
Support the Head of T&O Program Process Design & Mapping in documenting, standardizing, and optimizing end-to-end processes across transformation programmes, ensuring clarity of ownership, controls, and efficiency.
Key activities include:
- Facilitate process walkthroughs and workshops with business, operations, and technology teams to capture current (“as-is”) and future-state (“to-be”) processes.
- Develop and maintain detailed process maps, swimlanes, and control points in line with Group standards.
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, redundancies, and control weaknesses; propose design improvements or automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with programme teams and Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure alignment with approved solution designs, business requirements, and target operating models.
- Maintain a central process inventory, ensuring proper version control and documentation governance.
- Partner with Risk, Controls, and Audit teams to validate compliance with regulatory and control requirements.
- Provide insights and recommendations to T&O Management and governance forums to support informed decision-making.
- Deliver ad-hoc process mapping support for major transformation initiatives or regulatory remediation programmes.
- Quality Assurance (Deep Dives)
Support the T&O QA Lead in conducting structured deep-dive reviews on priority programmes to assess delivery readiness, design quality, and adherence to governance standards.
Key activities include:
- Plan and execute QA deep dives across programme workstreams and delivery phases, with focus on design integrity, architecture alignment, and control effectiveness.
- Review key artefacts (e.g. BRDs, Solution Intents, Release Plans, RAID logs) for completeness, traceability, and evidence of stakeholder approval.
- Identify control gaps, design weaknesses, and governance deviations; document findings and recommended remediation actions.
- Engage directly with Programme Leads, Architects, and PMOs to validate facts, confirm progress, and track issue resolution.
- Prepare concise QA reports highlighting key risks, maturity assessments, and evidence-based assurance ratings.
- Support QA inputs into SteerCo packs, Programme Steering Committee updates, and audit or regulatory responses.
- Maintain central QA evidence repositories, trackers, and lessons learned to inform future assessments.
- Strategic Resourcing & Workforce Planning
Assess the bank’s current resourcing landscape and support the design of a Target Operating Model (TOM) to improve resourcing estimation, manday forecasting, and cost management.
Key activities include:
- Analyse large, complex datasets to assess current-state resourcing, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and generate actionable insights.
- Provide ad-hoc analytical support on resourcing and workforce planning topics to inform leadership decisions.
- Engage stakeholders across functions to understand pain points, clarify requirements, and align on improvement opportunities.
- Design and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency of resourcing and forecasting.
- Navigate ambiguity and make data-driven recommendations in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience
- MS Office: Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience working with large datasets.
- Tools: Familiarity with Clarity, Tableau, and/or Azure DevOps (ADO) is preferred.
- Technology & Operations Knowledge: Basic understanding of technology delivery lifecycles, testing phases, and operational workflows.
- Project / Programme Management Exposure: Experience working within large-scale transformation or regulatory programmes.
