The Opportunity
Ecora is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Field Inspector to join our Kelowna team. In this role, you will support a variety of municipal, transportation, land development, and infrastructure projects throughout the Okanagan region. You will play a key role in ensuring construction quality, compliance, and safety while working closely with engineers, project managers, and contractors in a dynamic field environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, contracts, and applicable codes and regulations.

  • Monitor workmanship, materials, and construction methods to verify quality and conformance with project requirements.

  • Document field observations through daily inspection reports, photographs, and deficiency logs.

  • Track construction progress, quantities, and installed materials for payment certification and project records.

  • Identify and report non-conforming work, safety issues, and potential risks to the project team.

  • Liaise with contractors, engineers, project managers, and municipal representatives to communicate site conditions and resolve field issues.

  • Review and verify as-built drawings and assist with deficiency inspections and project close-out activities.

  • Support health and safety compliance by observing site safety practices and reporting hazards or incidents.

  • Assist with materials testing coordination and review of test results, as required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 2–7 years of experience in construction inspection, civil infrastructure, or a related role.

  • Experience with municipal infrastructure, transportation, land development, or utility projects is an asset.

  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and quality control procedures.

  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with field reporting or project management software is an asset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites within the Okanagan region.
