We are looking for a Configuration Specialist, a hands‑on technical role in Engineering team in financial industry, who brings strong experience with sophisticated, configuration driven enterprise platforms and understands how client requirements, platform build, and long-term scalability intersect.

This role is ideal for someone who has worked on client implementations, platform onboarding, or transformation programs in financial industry. It suits those who want to apply that experience closer to engineering and product decision making! We contribute to maintaining configuration as a powerful enabler of flexibility — without it becoming a source of instability, technical debt, or upgrade risk.

About the role

On this role you will focus on how the platform is configured, standardized, and evolved over time to support a wide range of clients and use cases.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and client facing teams, bringing real world implementation insight into platform invent and delivery. Your work will help ensure the platform can support continuous improvement and upgrades while maintaining stability, quality, and predictability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain standard configuration patterns across a large-scale enterprise platform

  • Help distinguish when requirements should be addressed through configuration, customization, or code

  • Partner with engineering teams during develop and delivery to ensure new features are configurable, scalable, and upgrade ready

  • Bring client and implementation experience into architectural and design discussions

  • Identify recurring client needs and help convert tailored solutions into repeatable, standardized capabilities

  • Support an operating model where clients can remain on current platform versions with minimal disruption

  • Reduce configuration drift and long-term complexity through consistency and automation

  • Ensure configuration changes follow appropriate quality, testing, and change controls

About you

  • Experience working with enterprise or platform-based systems where configuration is a core concept

  • Hands on experience handling client specific configurations at scale

  • Background in client implementations, client integration, or change initiatives

  • Ability to translate client requirements into standardized, scalable solutions

  • Comfort working with business stakeholders to understand workflows, constraints, and downstream impacts of configuration choices

  • Ability to reason about the business impact of configuration, standardization, and upgrade decisions

  • Curiosity and ability to quickly build domain knowledge in complex financial and investment systems

  • Technical requirements

    • SQL (for data migration, validation, analysis)

    • Scripting for imports, configuration, tooling

    • Understanding of interfaces, APIs, and integrations

    • Bachelor’s degree in technical field

  • Experience with SaaS or continuous delivery platform models

  • Exposure to automation, tooling, or data driven analysis

  • Familiarity with software release cycles, testing practices, or platform modernization initiatives

  • Experience collaborating with engineering and/or product teams

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort operating in sophisticated, highly governed environments

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences

Used by hundreds of external institutions around the world, Aladdin combines powerful analytics and a common language to help investment teams make faster, more informed decisions across public and private markets. It’s a key part of our business and one of the reasons we’re trusted to manage more assets than any other investment manager today.
