Description
PingWind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Configuration Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Configuration Manager, will be responsible for overseeing and managing the configuration management process for our organization. This includes maintaining accurate records of all hardware, software, and documentation configurations, as well as implementing and enforcing configuration management policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
· Have extensive IT experience in the analysis, design, and integration of information systems and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and development software.
· Must be well versed in understanding structured analysis and design methodologies for the translation of systems requirements from business needs with a proven track record.
· Must be able to evaluate cost factors and risk.
· Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand and analyze software requirements.
· Develop comprehensive test plans, strategies, and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
· Develop and maintain configuration management policies, procedures, and standards.
· Establish and maintain configuration baselines for hardware, software, and documentation.
· Monitor and track changes to configuration items throughout their lifecycle.
· Coordinate with project teams to ensure that configuration management requirements are met.
· Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of configuration records.
Requirements
· Identify and resolve configuration discrepancies and inconsistencies.
· Implement tools and technologies to support configuration management activities.
· Provide training and guidance to team members on configuration management processes and best practices.
· Collaborate with other departments, such as IT, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment of configuration management activities with organizational goals.
· Stay current with industry trends and best practices in configuration management.
· Identify and report software defects, track issues, and work closely with development teams to facilitate timely resolution.
· Conduct regression testing to ensure that new features or enhancements do not negatively impact existing functionality.
· Conduct performance testing to assess and optimize the performance of applications.
· Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and understanding of project requirements.
· Create and maintain documentation related to testing processes, test cases, and test results.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in technology, Computer Science, or a related field, Relevant certifications in configuration management, such as CMII certification, or ITIL Foundation certification
