Work responsibilities1. Compliance Management & Monitoring
  • Support the Compliance function in accordance with established procedures and the internal policy document “Compliance Management and Reporting Framework”.

  • Monitor regulatory compliance, internal control processes, and reporting in line with applicable laws and Wallester’s internal procedures.

  • Identify, assess, and report compliance risks within your area of responsibility.

  • Implement and report on activities mitigating compliance risks.

  • Conduct internal controls, report findings, propose mitigation measures, and follow up on corrective actions.

2. Policy & Procedure Development
  • Develop, review, and maintain compliance-related policies, procedures, and training materials.

  • Ensure timely adaptation of internal policies and procedures in response to new laws, regulations, or scheme requirements.

  • Ensure business functions meet and maintain compliance standards across all operations.

3. Risk Assessment
  • Conduct risk assessments of existing clients, partners, or business projects within your area of responsibility or as assigned by your direct manager.

  • Evaluate and monitor compliance-related risks tied to products, services, and third-party relationships.

4. Reporting & Communication
  • Support the Head of Compliance and internal stakeholders with data collection and information requests from external auditors, examiners, or partners.

  • Prepare and submit required reports, notifications, and certifications to regulatory bodies and payment schemes.

  • Act as the primary contact point with Visa, Mastercard, SEPA, and other payment schemes for compliance-related matters.

5. Payment Schemes Compliance
  • Monitor and interpret Visa, Mastercard, SEPA, and other payment scheme rules to ensure company-wide compliance.

  • Assess the impact of regulatory and scheme rule changes on company operations, systems, and products.

  • Identify and assess risks related to non-compliance with payment scheme rules.

  • Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure compliance and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support investigations and resolution of payment scheme compliance violations or remediation requests.

6. Training & Awareness
  • Compile and maintain training materials in relevant compliance areas.

  • Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams on compliance requirements and payment scheme rules.

  • Ensure all stakeholders are informed about new compliance obligations, industry updates, and best practices.

7. Cross-Department Collaboration
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with other departments and teams relevant to your area of responsibility.

  • Offer proactive compliance support during the development of new products and services.

  • Perform other compliance tasks assigned by your direct manager as needed.

Requirements
  • At least 3+ years of experience working in a financial institution as a compliance specialist
  • Degree in Law is a plus 
  • Strong and broad understanding of compliance laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; working proficiency in Estonian, and Russian is a plus
  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Willing to learn and develop in the Compliance area
