Oversee currency transaction reporting, sanctions screening, 314(a) requests, monetary instrument reviews, account risk monitoring, and W8-BEN processing. Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the CTR process by reviewing excessive cash transactions, preparing and filing CTRs, and monitoring submissions for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Investigate and resolve CTR-related issues by researching discrepancies, adjusting filings, and addressing exceptions.
  • Maintain sanctions compliance by updating SDN lists and screening systems and processing 314(a) requests within required timeframes.
  • Provide internal and external member support by phone, email, and mail. Serves as a point of contact to educate and support with information related to specific duties.
  • Conduct reviews of Monetary Instrument Logs and coin counting machine transactions to ensure completeness, detect unusual activity, and maintain regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Review account-related risk indicators, including dormant account address changes and override reports, to identify potentially suspicious activity and ensure proper approvals.
  • Support broader compliance monitoring activities related to member account maintenance and transactional reviews, including processing and tracking W8-BEN documentation.
  • Support compliance operations by assisting with audits, examinations, and participating in other initiatives and projects. Maintains procedures and reports related to specific duties.
  • Identify and escalate compliance concerns, suspicious activity, and control weaknesses.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1. No findings from our NCUA and internal audits.

2. Maintain up to date knowledge and ensure compliance with all rules and regulations concerning job responsibilities.

3. Ensure that CTR filings, OFAC screenings, and 314a requests are accurate and submitted on time.

4. Perform assigned reviews and reports promptly and accurately.

5. Provide informed, professional, accurate service and support to all members, employees, and law enforcement contacts.

6. Consistently produce high-quality work that requires minimal corrections.


Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience in a credit union or financial institution is preferred. In addition, a base knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism, OFAC, Fraud, and/or Compliance program is preferred.

Education: (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, and (3) BSA certification preferred or able to obtain BSA certification within a specified time is required.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

1. Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing credit union systems, software applications, and office equipment required to perform assigned responsibilities

2. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to gain departmental buy-in for compliance policies and procedures.

5. Highly organized, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex tasks simultaneously across various levels.

6. Requires critical thinking to analyze data, derive facts, and utilize independent judgment.

7. Experienced in using software and tools for documentation, analysis, and research within compliance-related areas.

8. Strong work ethic and desire to enhance the knowledge base, technical skills, and self-motivation.

Physical Requirements: Light lifting is required.
