Job Summary: 

The Compliance Specialist ensures that all furniture manufacturing and export activities comply with international trade regulations, particularly for shipments to the United States and Canada. This role involves managing export documentation, tracking compliance records, and maintaining adherence to international standards.

About The Role: 

  • Review and update internal policies and compliance manuals.
  • Request factories to submit all required documentation, licenses, labels, and test reports to ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian regulations.
  • Conduct social and security audits at factories.
  • Maintain detailed records of product specifications, testing outcomes, and supplier communications for traceability and decision-making.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes align with international furniture export standards.
  • Stay informed on U.S. and Canadian import regulations, including customs requirements, safety standards, and environmental laws.
  • Prepare and review export documentation, such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, and commercial invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Organize and maintain compliance databases, including permits, certificates, and regulatory filings, for accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Generate periodic compliance reports and present findings to management.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on compliance-related topics, including trade regulations and company policies.
  • Perform regular reviews of export processes to identify potential risks and improve compliance.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as requested by direct supervisors, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and priorities.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager

Let's Talk About You: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance, preferably within the manufacturing or export sector.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, including U.S. and Canadian import laws.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with compliance management software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English; Professional proficiency in Vietnamese is advantageous.
  • Certification in trade compliance or related areas, preferred
  • Experience in the furniture manufacturing industry, preferred
  • Familiarity with C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) and other international trade security programs, preferred
