Job DescriptionWe are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Compliance Analyst based in Brussels to join our European team. As Compliance Manager, you'll support SquareTrade’s European team by assisting with regulatory monitoring, reporting, horizon scanning and implementation of compliance policies across multiple jurisdictions. You will report to SquareTrade Europe’s Compliance Manager and be a valued member of the pan-European 2nd line Compliance team working closely with internal stakeholders from all areas of the business as well as with clients and suppliers.
You will work in a fun, energetic and dynamic business with several regulated companies across the UK and the EU and with partners distributing insurance policies in multiple jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities
· Monitor regulatory developments and assist in assessing their impact on the business
· Support the implementation and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures
· Assist in preparing regulatory reports and submissions to insurers and regulators
· Conduct Horizon Scanning to identify regulatory changes and emerging compliance risks across all relevant jurisdictions
· Lead the completion of the compliance monitoring plan, ensuring timely execution of scheduled reviews and reporting findings to the Compliance Manager.
· Help review due diligence information for clients, suppliers and third parties.
· Contribute to the internal compliance training and awareness initiatives
· Assist the Compliance Manager in the preparation of Board and Committee reports.
· Assist in SquareTrade’s internal sanctions screening processes and review escalated sanctions ‘hits’.
QualificationsQualifications and experience
· Educated to bachelor’s degree level preferable.
· Insurance/financial services and/ or compliance qualification preferable.
· Minimum 4 years’ experience in a compliance advice or technical compliance role (ideally within insurance/financial services industry).
Knowledge
· Good working knowledge of IDD, NBB, FSMA Regulation.
· Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
· Able to work collaboratively across teams at all levels of business.
· Ability to work to defined standards, practices and timescales.
· Attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills.
· Good understanding of general retail insurance products is a big “plus”.
Fluent in English and French or Dutch. Knowledge of any other European language is considered an asset.
Additional InformationThis role is based in market but will require significant internal travel to partner locations along with monthly international travel to SquareTrade HQ in London.
On average, two to three days per week will be spent with the partner, across a mix of locations, including HQ and stores, both within and outside the assigned region, depending on business requirements.
