Job Summary
As an Associate in the Compliance team, you will be responsible for supporting regulatory compliance and conduct risk management for JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. India branch.
Job Responsibilities
- Disseminate regulatory correspondences received from RBI and industry bodies like IBA and FEDAI.
- Update various decks for location Governance forums related to CCOR updates.
- Ensure timely updates of LRCM and OLO entries.
- Assist in the conduct of regulatory exams, track the action points, and prepare status reports thereon.
- Scrutinize PAD, licensing, and training records/requests and assist in approval in conjunction with the responsible LOB.
- Review various customer communications sent periodically by LOB Compliance.
- Collate feedback from various stakeholders on draft guidelines issued by the local regulator for review and onward submission to the regulator.
- Conduct first-level review of bespoke requests sent to the regulator for client/transaction-specific approval as per India local regulations.
- Provide compliance views on queries raised by the Payments Operations Team.
- Consolidate feedback from various CCOR stakeholders (GFCC, Regional CCOR, Sanctions) for one sign-off on NBIA and PSCM initiatives.
- Track submissions to local regulatory queries and follow up with various teams.
- Clarify product-related requests for opinion by Regional/Global Business teams and support the launch of Regional/Global Products.
- Conduct annual or ad-hoc risk assessments.
- Advise on regulatory matters related to general banking, including credit, liquidity, trade finance, and cash management.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience in compliance, risk or regulatory roles
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to interpret financial regulations and regulatory requirements and assess operational Compliance with those requirements.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. The candidate should have the ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with business partners and other support functions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, attention to detail and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of control design and root cause analysis
- Self motivated with an ability to work independently, execute reviews within defined timescales and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously;
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and deliver quality results.
- Be comfortable interacting with, and presenting to, senior business management and control functions.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Chartered Accountant, Master’s degree, or other closely related professional qualification will be beneficial.
