Freelancer / Temporary Compliance Lead (6-Month Contract)

About The Role 💻 

We are looking for a Freelancer / Temporary Compliance Lead (6-Month Contract) to support the implementation of new regulations and help us achieve a high level of compliance and efficiency across the organization.

This is a 6-month, full-time temporary position offering the opportunity to lead a cross-functional project that will shape and transform our business, with exposure to stakeholders at all levels of the company.

What You’ll Be Doing 🚀

Working as a Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for: 

• Interpreting and operationalizing the requirements of EU Regulation 2024/3005, ensuring practical compliance across the business.
• Leading the cross-functional project, coordinating efforts across Legal, Product, Tech, Data, HR, and other teams.
• Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, risk assessments, and compliance checklists.
• Designing policies and processes in core compliance areas, support other stakeholders for their own policies and processes related to the project
• Ensuring compliance of all required documentation
• Advising senior leadership and relevant business units on regulatory impacts, delivering training and facilitating workshops as appropriate.
• Collaborating with the regulatory team as key contact for external advisors, regulatory bodies, and auditors regarding the implementation project.
• Monitoring progress, resolve critical issues, and proactively manage project risks.
• Conducting robust gap analyses and oversee remediation plans to ensure timely and effective alignment with regulatory standards.
• Monitoring evolving developments in ESG rating regulation, proposing updates or refinements to project activities as needed.
• Presenting regular project status updates and recommendations to senior management and board-level stakeholders.

Fostering a strong internal culture of compliance and support increased awareness of regulatory responsibilities across the company.

What You’ll Need 👀

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Compliance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or equivalent preferred)..Years of Experience: 10 years’ experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory functions within tech, financial services, or related sectors, in particular with regulatory or transformative implementation projects.
• Educational Background: Degree in Law, Compliance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Self-starter, able to take ownership and initiative, with high energy and stamina
• Decisive and action-oriented, able to make rapid decisions even when they are short of information
• Highly motivated, independent and deeply passionate about sustainability and impact
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills (minimum C1 level-proficient user)

Nice To Have ✨

• Experience in a start-up
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree, or higher, in a financial discipline such as Banking, Finance, Investment Management, or Sustainable Finance.
