Title: Compliance & Ethics Specialist

Location: Columbus, OH

Reports to: Director, Compliance and Ethics

Hybrid/Onsite/Remote: HYBRID position

Role Summary

CoverMyMeds has an exciting career opportunity for a valued member of the Compliance & Ethics department. Reporting to the Director of Compliance & Ethics- CMM, the Compliance & Ethics Specialist will design, develop, implement and promote awareness of the organization’s business ethics policies and monitor the organization’s standards of conduct and ethical relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, employees, and the communities in which business is conducted. . The Specialist will implement those core compliance principles into the CMM business products supporting patient medication access, adherence, and affordability. Additionally, the Specialist will communicate results to various Compliance and business leaders.

Duties and Responsibilities Include

The primary role of the Specialist falls into specific categories:

  • Model the core principles of ethical decision making by applying a consistent set of standards when providing guidance to business partners
  • Enable business partnerships by providing compliance by design controls that prevent, detect and respond to compliance issues and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Interpret written standards for business to address risks and meet legal and regulatory requirements. Develop standards to provide guidance to simple risks and established regulatory requirements
  • Present effective variety of formal and informal in-person and virtual training and education that facilitates increased adherence to compliance principles.
  • Promote a Speak Up culture and intake and triage concerns. Conduct investigation of alleged violations by gathering data, interviewing participants and documenting evidence as appropriate.
  • Understand and apply appropriate methodologies to test and validate processes and controls. Identifies operational causes of noncompliance and provides recommendations for remediation.
  • Establish and leverage methodologies to evaluate risks and prioritize mitigation solutions. Evaluate compliance risks in specific transactions or projects and partners with business colleagues to identify approaches to mitigate risks.
  • Use data as a driver to identify business problems, issue spot potential compliance issues, create solutions, and draw meaningful conclusions. Uses statistical/analytical methods and data mining to create information that identifies and/or solves compliance problems.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet Company goals.

  • Demonstrate clear and concise communication with key stakeholders’ and collaboration across the organization.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate to all organizational levels.
  • Ability to drive and implement key strategies.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and tolerance for ambiguity.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Masters degree, Juris Doctorate, CHC or equivalent preferred

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience in a compliance, regulatory and/or quality environment

Physical requirements

  • Typical office environment 
  • Travel up to 15%

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$73,500 - $122,500
