Stata is searching for a Compliance Engineer to join our engineering team. The compliance engineer works as a project team member working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams and is responsible for assisting with the design, testing, troubleshooting, and prototyping of new products with focus on meeting safety, EMI, EMC, and other regulatory standards. In addition, they are responsible for coordination of internal and external lab testing for regulatory compliance testing. Position will require acquiring and maintaining certifications and markings for the following organizations and standards: FCC, IC/ISED, ETSI, ICASA, ACMA, CSA, CE, UL, MSHA, IECEx, ATEX, ANZEx, SANS. The position will require frequent interaction with governmental and industrial organizations across the globe but primarily in North America, South Africa, and Australia.  
In addition, incumbent will work as a resource specialist in technical writing, cataloging and maintaining business and technical publications; create, write, edit publications to include reports, manuals, briefs, procedures, and related materials; learn product applications to understand and present technical materials and the presentation of such content; maintain and retrieve materials. 
 
II.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Submit complete data package submissions for regulatory agencies, coordinating and tracking (managing) applications as they progress, identifying external accredited laboratories for compliance testing to governmental, industrial, and specific corporate standards. 
Manage any periodical audits and product surveillance requests.  
Perform internal testing where required and coordinate with test engineer to perform these tests 
Ensure all products are labeled per certification standards and product specifications are accurately represented in manuals and marketing literature 
Organize and write required technical and business materials (primarily product data sheets, safety data sheets, user manuals, user training videos, marketing brochures, and marketing videos) per corporate standards. 
Develop system to maintain certification records for products and maintain all technical publications. 
Perform other functions and duties as needed and/or as assigned. 
III. QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred);  
  • Minimum of two years experience working with product technical certifications; 
  • Technical writing experience (product manuals, technical datasheets…) 
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience. 


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

  • Attention to detail essential. 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Must have the ability to develop and deliver product materials 
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills essential. 
  • Must be able to work effectively within project teams. 
  • Must have ability to clearly understand role requirements and to successfully deliver on these to a high standard, on time and with limited supervision or direction. 
  • Technical background with electronic products desirable. 


IV. WORKING CONDITIONS 
Location 

Candidate will work at Canonsburg, PA facility. 
Travel Requirements 
The incumbent may be required to travel as needed to support development projects within the USA and International. Trips will likely require overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.   
Physical Demands 
This position requires the ability to perform general physical exertions, including walking, standing, climbing, lifting materials or equipment up to twenty pounds occasionally and up to ten pounds frequently. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  
Work Environment 
Typical office and manufacturing environment.  Occasional off-site work at mining locations to test and support Strata products may be required.

The Compliance Engineer's starting pay will be competitive and commensurate with the chosen candidate’s qualifications and experience. This is an Exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime pay.
