Job Description

Purpose of the role

To collect, clean, analyse, and visualise data to identify potential risks, assess compliance with regulations, and provide valuable insights to auditors. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and execution of data extraction strategies to gather relevant data from various sources, including internal systems, external databases, and third-party vendors.
  • Analysis of data to identify potential risks and control weaknesses.
  • Provision of data-driven insights and analysis to auditors throughout the audit process.
  • Supporting the development and testing of audit procedures based on data analysis results.
  • Implementation of data management processes to ensure data accessibility, security, and integrity.

  • OR for an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Embark on a transformative journey as a Compliance Assurance Data Analytics. As a member of the Barclays Compliance Assurance Data Analytics team, you will be supporting review teams with the development of test objectives and execution of Compliance Assurance reviews using data analytics techniques. You will contribute to the development of business risk management capability and culture by constructively challenging its on-going effectiveness and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. You will also support the development of the Compliance Assurance Data Analytics team and the adoption of new data analysis techniques, tools and approaches.

To be successful as a Compliance Assurance Data Analytics, you should have experience with:

  • Profiling perform data analytics/data on structured and/or unstructured data

  • Commonly used data analytics tools/languages used in the team e.g. SQL, SAS, Python and data visualization software such as Tableau

  • Influencing and communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to all levels of the business

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience in developing and executing testing/assurance strategies to assess control environments; as part of a systems/IT assurance function, internal or external audit role, or as part of a risk management function

  • Knowledge of compliance and/or financial crime regulations, risks, technology systems/solutions

  • Experience in completing assurance reviews/controls testing/audits to a high standard or with minimal supervision

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is located in our Whippany, NJ office.
