The Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Compensation Analyst (contract). The Compensation Analyst is responsible for supporting the analysis, implementation & administration of compensation programs, policies & processes for Novelis' North America Region (operations in the United States and Canada). They will support global compensation activities by leading and/or participating in projects and programs coordinated by the Corporate HQ. The role acts as a business partner to understand and ensure compensation needs of the business are met in alignment with companywide as well as local philosophies, processes, systems, and goals.
To support our growing compensation work, Novelis is seeking Compensation Analysts for contract assignments expected to last 6-12 months. We anticipate a workload of approximately 20-40 hours per week and may engage multiple contractors to meet business needs. We welcome candidates seeking either part-time or full-time contract work who can bring strong compensation expertise and quickly contribute to ongoing projects and core compensation activities.
Responsibilities & QualificationsResponsibilities
- Support compensation projects: ensure collaborator alignment and support, manage to timelines and objectives
- Meet regularly with HR partners to discuss compensation-related objectives at regional level to evaluate issues and develop/recommend solutions
- Provide analysis, support, and feedback during the year-end compensation cycle - salary increases, promotions, annual incentive payouts, and employee communication
- Review internal and external candidates and provide recommendations on starting salary, etc.
- Educate and build capability among HR Business Partners on compensation topics and compensation decision making
- Participate in US and Canada salary surveys, facilitate and support regional compensation heads in their participation
- Annual review of salary data and structures for U.S. and Canada
- Supports market pricing for roles in NNA
- Handle processes for job structure reviews and evaluations including gaining an understanding of objectives, job structures, desired outcomes, and leading expectations
- Support business through job evaluations and structure changes to ensure accurate review, approval, communication, and implementation occurs
- Supporting various global compensation projects
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience, in compensation or related field
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, HR, Finance, or related field
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple geographies and functions
- Ability to influence without direct authority, applying expertise and providing sound mentorship and support
- Project management skills with the ability to drive projects to completion
- Proven experience engaging collaborators including interacting with all levels of employees throughout the organization with tact and diplomacy
- Experience providing compensation business partner support both directly to the business and to other HR professionals
