Position: Content Specialist, COMPASS Top of Form
About the Position
The full-time on-site Content Specialist will be responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day programming at Afterschool Program. The Content Specialist will focus on quality and delivery of services as well as coaching and development of Team Leaders and Instructors.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Directly coach and develop Team Leaders
- Supervise and manage the flow of the day for after-school, and Summer Rising
- Ensure the health, safety and well-being of program participants by providing supervision of activities
- Assist in identifying and implementing engaging enrichment programs
- Lead engaging, age-appropriate instruction in one designated content area that produces final project and/or culminating event
- Complete accurate program documentation as needed (DYCD Connect, attendance, sign in/out forms, behavior reports, incident reports)
- Work with the Director to secure and maintain all equipment and supplies needed
- Understand and communicate the Graham Pillars and the goals of the Afterschool Program to participants and caregivers
- Build trusting relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least five (5) years of experience and three (3) as a supervisor
- Previous experience supervising children less than 13 years of age
- Meet the state licensing requirements for a director of a child care center
- Demonstrated understanding of child and youth development principles
- Demonstrated understanding of how to create and manage programming for multiple stakeholders including children and adults
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Practical and strong decision making skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and motivate a team
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least five (5) years of experience
- At least three (3) years of supervisory experience
- Previous experience supervising children under 13 years of age
- Meet state licensing requirements for a director of a child care center
- Demonstrated understanding of child and youth development principles
- Experience creating and managing programming for multiple stakeholders (children and adults)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Practical and strong decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and motivate a team
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
