This role blends virtual assessments, manufacturability analysis, ergonomic evaluation, and cross-functional issue resolution to ensure GM's vehicles are designed for robust, repeatable, and high-quality assembly across global plants.
What You'll Do

  • Conduct virtual assessments including VR reviews, static/dynamic studies, process virtual builds, and ergonomic checks.
  • Facilitate and support Level 2 PFMEA workshops for assigned compartments.
  • Participate in ePeer reviews and Component Readiness Reviews (CRV).

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • 5+ years combined experience in Product Engineering (propulsion, chassis, suspension) and/or Manufacturing Engineering, including program launch or pre-production build support.
  • Proficiency in manufacturability assessment, assembly feasibility, ergonomic evaluation, and system interface analysis (chassis, exterior, interior, powertrain).
  • Experience with virtual build tools such as VIS Mockup, VR assessments, and digital manufacturing studies.
  • Working knowledge of PFMEA development, process/tooling documentation, and review processes such as CRV and ePeer.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Manufacturing Requirements across multiple vehicle systems in alignment with General Assembly processes.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical findings across engineering and manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple program deliverables.
  • Experience in ME Execution, tooling development, or General Assembly plant operations.
  • Familiarity with GM systems: MPS, VAA, ECR/EDGE, Auros, FIT, Momentum (GVDP), PRTS, LMS, and Teamcenter/VS workflows.
