About the Role

We're seeking a dynamic Community & Social Media Lead to become the voice of our developer community. As the bridge between Augment Code and our growing community, you'll craft narratives that resonate with developers while building spaces where they can thrive, collaborate, and shape our product's future.

As our first Community & Social Media Lead, you'll own our social presence and community strategy. You'll build meaningful connections with developers while amplifying our brand voice across platforms. This is a high-impact position where you'll shape how developers experience and engage with our product beyond the code editor.

This role requires both a strong technical foundation and a passion for building authentic connection with end users. Ideal candidates have built programs (and possibly teams!) in developer community management and social media before and are looking to do it again. As our community and social channels grow, so will your role and impact. This position offers significant growth potential in a fast-moving environment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Community Strategy: Design and scale a vibrant developer community that becomes the envy of the industry
• Social Presence: Craft our voice across Twitter/X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Discord, and Reddit with content that developers actually want to engage with
• Platform Selection: Choose and implement the right community tools that align with developers' workflows and preferences
• Developer Advocacy: Identify and nurture champions within our community who amplify our mission
• Feedback Loop: Create channels that turn community insights into product improvements

The ideal candidate will have a self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and possess:

• 5+ years of community management and social media experience, specifically for developers
• A joy for being very online (in a meme sense, not a wall clock sense)
• A strong ability to separate signal from noise and direct feedback accordingly
• Strong collaboration skills with marketing, engineering, product, and design 
• Experience selecting and managing community platforms
• High levels of taste, humor, kindness, and wit
