About Common House

Common House is a contemporary social club designed to cultivate community through shared experiences. We provide our members with unique spaces to work, dine, and engage, blending the professional utility of a modern workspace with the soul and hospitality of a boutique hotel and social club.

The Role: Community Manager

We are seeking a high-energy, multifaceted Community Manager to serve as the heartbeat of our House. This isn't just a management role; it is a leadership position that sits at the intersection of hospitality, sales, and event programming.

The Community Manager is responsible for the member experience and operational excellence, but with an added layer of elevated food and beverage service and high-end event execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Engagement & Hospitality

  • Foster a warm, inclusive, and vibrant environment for all members and guests.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for member inquiries, feedback, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure the physical space meets our high standards of aesthetic and functional excellence.

2. Sales & Membership Growth

  • Drive club growth by leading tours for prospective members and managing the sales pipeline from inquiry to onboarding.
  • Meet monthly membership retention and acquisition targets.
  • Identify opportunities for local partnerships that add value to the membership experience.

3. Programming & Event Management

  • Curate and execute a monthly calendar of diverse member events (e.g., speaker series, wine tastings, wellness workshops, and networking mixers).
  • Coordinate with the food and beverage team to ensure seamless catering and service for all internal and private events.
  • Manage event logistics, including vendor outreach, setup/teardown, and marketing.

4. Operations & Team Leadership

  • Supervise front-of-house staff to ensure consistent, five-star service delivery.
  • Manage the club’s operational budget, including supplies and programming expenses.
  • Utilize CRM and membership software to track data, manage billing, and analyze community trends.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 3–5 years in community management (coworking), hospitality management (private club, Hotel etc)
  • The 'Host' Mentality: You possess an intuitive sense of hospitality and know how to make everyone in a room feel seen and welcomed.
  • Sales Savvy: Comfortable pitching the value of Common House and closing membership deals.
  • Adaptability: You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you might move from a budget meeting to troubleshooting a microphone for a live event in the same hour.
  • Local Connection: Deep knowledge of the North Carolina social and professional landscape is a major plus.
Why Common House?
  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Complimentary House membership and discounts on food, beverage, and curated goods.
  • The opportunity to shape the social fabric of North Carolina’s most dynamic cities.

In exchange for talented skills and contributions, Common House offers all employees a dynamic work environment, fun co-workers, and a competitive salary package.  Additionally, we also provide our team members a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • Diverse and inclusive colleagues
  • Generous Health, Dental, Vision, and Reserve Leave Coverage
  • 401k Option
  • Paid Time Off
  • Monthly membership at Common House (and your partner/spouse gets one, too!)
  • 50% employee discount on food and non-alcoholic purchases

What We Do

Founded in 2017, Common House is a modern social club designed for connection. More than a membership, the Houses provide an inclusive space to dine, work, and discover. With locations in Charlottesville, Richmond, and Chattanooga, we focus on immersing members into the communities they call “home” through curated third spaces complete with unique amenities such as restaurants, co-working spaces, rooftop lounges, and a lively slate of ongoing events.

As we continue to expand to mid-sized cities throughout the country, we remain true to our founders’ original vision: to create connection — through thoughtful programming, design, and intentionally-sourced food and beverage.
