OVERVIEW: We are looking for an individual with 2 years of experience in the field of community association management which involves managing homeowner and condominium associations or relevant experience. The Community Association Manager serves as an advisor to Board and Committee members, ensuring that homeowner associations (HOAs) and condominiums (COAs) operate effectively and in compliance with governing documents. This role is responsible for financial oversight, contract and vendor management, homeowner communication, and supporting Boards in decision-making processes. The Community Association Manager ensures the timely execution of association business while maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders. VIS Group is a tech-forward company and this position requires greater than average technology skills. 

About Our Company: We are a growing community association management company, with communities all along the Puget Sound area and offices in Lacey and Bellevue, WA.

Job Location: Lacey, WA 

Hours/Week: 40 hr

Starting Salary: $62,000-$85,000 per year

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

A Community Association Manager is responsible for administering the communications, operations, maintenance, and financial management of approximately 8-15 homeowner and/or condominium associations with the help of an Assistant Community Manager (depending on the size of the portfolio). Specifically, the Community Manager: 

  • Acts as an advisor to Board and Committee members
  • Response in a timely manner to email and phone calls to board members and homeowners
  • Prepares for, attends, and facilitates Board and all Association meetings
  • Reviews and interprets governing documents
  • Prepares the annual budget for the association
  • Monitors association accounts receivable and makes recommendations for collection of past due accounts
  • Ensures the timely payment of association expenses
  • Initiates and reviews annual association reserve studies
  • Ensures that association work orders and repairs are completed as required
  • Contract management, monitors landscape and other vendor contracts
  • Vendor management, obtains bids from contractors when needed.

  •  Ability to interact with a variety of board members
  •  Must be self-directed 
  •  High level of organizational and time management skills
  •  Higher than typical knowledge of computers
  •  Work well under pressure
  •  On call availability for community emergencies
  •  Evening availability for board meetings
  •  Ability to travel to various locations in King, Pierce, and Thurston Counties
  •  Knowledge of Caliber and/or Appfolio software is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree and experience with associations is preferred, but not required. CMCA or AMS Certification though Community Association Institute is a plus, but not required.
