About the Associate for Strategic Communications
Manhattan Strategies is seeking an Associate for Strategic Communications to join our team in New York City. This is a full-time, on-site role for a candidate who is available to start immediately.
This position is ideal for an early-career communications professional with at least one year of full time post-graduate experience (internships or school-based roles do not qualify). You will play a key role supporting executive level communications, media strategy, content development and client facing projects in a fast-paced environment.
The best fit candidate is an exceptional writer, highly organized, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities while collaborating with senior strategists, designers and multiple clients.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Content & Messaging: Draft and edit high-quality communications materials include social media content, blog posts, newsletters, client deliverables, press releases and strategy recommendations, supporting thought leadership and executive communications across industries.
- Media Relations & Outreach: Build and maintain targeted media lists, monitor press coverage and news cycles and assist with media strategy, pitching and briefing materials.
- Social & Digital Communications: Develop platform-specific social content and manage publishing schedules, engage with online audiences and track performance across channels and support integrated campaigns across earned, owned and digital media.
- Research, Reporting & Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitors and target audiences, keeping your finger on the pulse of industry news across clients.
- Client & Team Support: Coordinate across multiple projects to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met, contribute to client meetings, presentations and internal strategy sessions, and provide day-to-day support to senior communications leads and company leadership.
Qualifications
Required
- 1-3 years of full-time professional experience in communications, PR, media, public affairs, politics or related fields (internships do not qualify)
- Based in New York City and able to work in our midtown office three days each week
- Available to start immediately (not an upcoming graduate)
- Outstanding writing, editing and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational ability and comfort working across multiple fast-moving projects
Preferred:
- Experience supporting executive communications or high-profile clients
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools, analytics platforms and digital storytelling
- Background in agency, consulting, politics or fast-paced communications environments
Benefits & Compensation
- Base salary range is $50,000 to $62,000 per year
- Benefits include bonus eligibility and 401(k) with company match
