We are seeking a (home/office) to join a small team with a lot of passion and opportunity for sharing the industry-leading work of our more than 6,000 employees and the incredible patients and customers we have the honor of serving, and we're currently looking for a new team member to support enterprise communications.

In this position, you will primarily be focused on internal communications, including the ongoing management and enhancement of the company's collaborative intranet. You'll also have the opportunity to support the Enterprise Communications Team in developing materials and implementing plans to communicate Hanger's business strategies, initiatives, culture, and values to its employees.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Enterprise Communications, the Communications Specialist is a professional early in their career with solid writing, editing, content creation, and presentation skills. Critical to the role is the ability to communicate in a voice consistent with Hanger's values and culture.

  • Serve as business owner for the company's collaborative intranet, including leading content management and maintenance, and ensuring collaborative functions are optimized; includes day-to-day community management and implementing long-term strategy
  • Work collaboratively with the Enterprise Communications Team to partner with Human Resources, Marketing, IT and other teams to develop and implement internal communication plans to support ongoing programs and change management initiatives
  • Assess current efforts, and develop effective metrics for tracking the efficiency and success of internal communication programs, with a focus on the collaborative intranet
  • Produce and report on analytics to share with various departments
  • Produce regular content (biweekly newsletter, weekly or monthly internal news articles, email announcements, and more as necessary) to highlight progress on strategic initiatives

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field
  • Excellent writing, proofing and editorial skills. Fluent in AP Style
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects according to enterprise objectives, while exhibiting flexibility in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively partner with employees at all levels

  • 2+ years' experience preferred (position will be leveled appropriately based on experience)
  • Experience in internal and executive communications
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience with or extensive knowledge of social intranet strategies and management, including Staffbase
  • Experience creating dashboards and interpreting analytics
  • Video and graphic design experience, including ability to use Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop
