POSITION SUMMARY

This is an entry-level role that will support both the internal and external communications functions of Beyond Finance. Externally, this candidate will focus on executing the team’s public affairs strategies that promote the image and reputation of Beyond Finance. Internally, the role calls for an energetic team member who can support employee communications and develop engaging content. Responsibilities for both require a strong emphasis on brainstorming, writing, researching and tracking metrics to increase brand awareness and ensure effectiveness across multiple channels. This role reports to the Internal Communications Director with dotted-line responsibility to the External Communications Directors. 

This position is located in Fort Worth, TX (hybrid model).

RESPONSIBILITIES

External 

  • Create website content for the company (e.g., news releases, biographies, newsroom blog posts ) as well as support other pages in collaboration with teams outside of the Communications team (e.g., Human Resources, Marketing)
  • Construct, edit and proofread public affairs/relations messaging to reach external stakeholders
  • Assist with media outreach and follow-up to promote the Beyond Finance brand
  • Research consumer finance trends to create and update assets (e.g., one-pagers, white papers)
  • Work with Chief Communications Officer to research information for government relations efforts; may include collaboration with trade associations, lobbyists and legislative consultants to provide collateral for meetings
  • Coordinate photo shoots and video shoots to help promote corporate storytelling
  • Collaborate with team to execute public media relations campaigns and grassroots efforts 

Internal 

  • Develop impactful communications that engage employees across multiple channels, including intranet and a monthly employee newsletters 
  • Work with team on strategic planning to support internal communications
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of communications
  • Maintain and help plan the internal communications annual calendar
  • Perform other communication duties and assist team, as assigned
  • Help promote a positive flow of information across the organization to align with Beyond Finance’s culture
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to create launches and plan events
  • Help generate graphics for internal use

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of AP Style required
  • Solid communication and relationship-building skills with all levels of employees,  management and external stakeholders
  • Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills 
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to collaborate with team members across multiple departments 
  • Great affinity for learning new programs and communications tools
  • Able to communicate and work with all levels of employees, management and external stakeholders
  • Keen attention to detail 
  • Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exercise flexibility in a remote/hybrid working environment

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field
  • Prior internship(s) in communications, public relations, marketing strongly preferred
