What will I be doing?
Role Overview
We’re looking for a news-savvy, PR hustler and B2B communications expert to identify and forge media opportunities that cement Kaluza as the advanced software platform for energy to support commercial success. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow the profile and brand equity of one the leading B2B technology companies at the heart of the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Increase Kaluza’s share of voice across top-tier global news outlets and business, energy, and technology trades, through proactively pitching fresh story angles and news-hijacking.
- Lead sustained relationship-building activity with target media, collaborating with key journalists to bring great stories to life.
- Develop a pipeline of impactful profiling opportunities (including editorials, events and podcasts) for our key spokespeople, establishing them as voices of authority and go-to experts on energy transformation.
- Devise, own and execute a media events programme that generates key PR moments for Kaluza and strengthens relationships.
- Be accountable for crafting data-rich and digestible media briefs and providing executive counsel ahead of press engagements, optimising coverage outcomes.
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing Communications to create a stream of external comms initiatives that shine a light on Kaluza’s pioneering innovation and global growth.
- Own stand-out PR campaigns that strategically leverage communications channels to amplify reach and drive commercial value.
- Champion great coverage and media content internally, and coach the sales team in distributing to key commercial contacts to strengthen relationships.
- Monitor and report relevant media stories and coverage internally, keeping employees informed and aligned on industry news and Kaluza’s position.
- Support crisis communications efforts, recommending strategies to protect brand reputation.
- Manage a successful awards program that further validates Kaluza’s market-leading platform.
About You
- Essential: Extensive experience in B2B communications (in-house or agency), ideally within the technology or energy sectors, with proven PR success.
- Essential: Robust understanding of the energy and/or technology media landscape, possessing a book of contacts and strong, existing relationships with key journalists.
- Savvy comms strategist and proactive go-getter to devise and deliver great PR outcomes.
- Outstanding copywriter able to author bold and compelling content that captures attention and increases brand equity.
- Strong influencing and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to secure high-value media opportunities.
- Tuned into emerging news cycles with an instinct for how to shape expert commentary.
- Thoughtful and purposeful communicator; able to galvanise internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented.
- A team player energised by a fast-paced scale up environment.
