Position Summary

Hackley School is seeking a creative, curious and organized individual to join the Communications Office as a Communications Intern. This position offers hands-on experience across a variety of communications and marketing projects while providing exposure to the strategy, planning and storytelling that support an independent school community.

Working closely with communications colleagues, the intern will contribute to content development, research, special projects and communications initiatives that help share the stories and experiences that make Hackley unique.
Students interested in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, media studies, business or related fields are encouraged to apply.
 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with a variety of communications, marketing and storytelling projects.
  • Support content creation for digital and print communications.
  • Research trends, ideas and best practices in communications, social media and marketing.
  • Help gather information, conduct interviews and support storytelling efforts across campus.
  • Assist with communications planning, special projects and campaign development.
  • Help organize content, track projects and maintain communications resources.
  • Support reporting and evaluation efforts by helping collect and organize communications data.
  • Help refine reporting tools and tracking systems, including Hackley's Critical Mention platform, to better support future planning and decision-making
  • Attend school events and assist with content gathering as needed.
  • Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions and creative discussions.
  • Take on additional projects based on organizational needs and personal interests.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Interest in communications, marketing, storytelling or public relations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Curiosity, creativity and a willingness to learn. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. 
  • Interest in learning how communications supports an organization's goals and community engagement.

Compensation
Hourly Rate: $17.50–$21.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
