Shape how advisers and Australian investors understand markets, products, and Vanguard’s perspective.
About the Role
Are you a standout communicator who can translate complex investment concepts into powerful, accessible stories?
Do you know how to take market trends and data to turn that into compelling narratives that influence advisors, investors, and industry stakeholders?
If you’re a communications professional who wants to work with the best in the industry, this is your next move.
We’re looking for an experienced communications professional to lead strategic communications across Vanguard Australia’s Financial Adviser Services (FAS) and Investment Management Group (IMG). This is a senior role for a communications professional with strong investment literacy, someone who understands markets, products, and the nuances of adviser‑focused messaging.
In this role, you’ll design and deliver integrated campaigns that position Vanguard as a trusted thought leader. You’ll translate complex investment insights and business priorities into clear, compelling narratives for advisers, licensee partners, and industry influencers. Working closely with senior leaders and marketing teams, you will elevate Vanguard’s voice across media, owned channels, social content, presentations, and industry forums.
In this role, you will:
Lead the development and execution of strategic communications campaigns aligned to FAS and IMG priorities.
Produce high‑quality content including media releases, commentary, social copy, Q&As, adviser‑focused explainers, and internal communications.
Manage campaigns end‑to‑end, from planning to delivery and measurement.
Build strong relationships across the business and with external partners to ensure clear, consistent, client‑first messaging.
Identify PR opportunities and turn data, insights, and market trends into meaningful media and industry moments.
Track engagement metrics and optimise communications based on performance and audience feedback.
What we’re looking for:
7+ years’ experience in communications, journalism, or financial content, with a solid foundation in markets and investments.
Understanding of markets and working knowledge of ETFs, equities, fixed income, superannuation, and model portfolios.
Established relationships across business media, industry podcasts, and conference platforms.
Ability to distil complex investment and business concepts into clear narratives for advisers and institutional partners.
Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across multiple business divisions and external stakeholders.
Exceptional writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, and adaptability across diverse audiences and digital channels.
Sounds like you? We look forward to hearing from you.
About Vanguard
More than 45 years ago, John C. Bogle had a vision to start an investment company that did things differently. A company with no external shareholders. Where all the profits were invested back into the business and used to lower costs. Evidently, it was as bold as it was brilliant. To this day, Vanguard Group still has no external shareholders. That means no share prices to protect, and no profits to generate for outside owners.
Today, Vanguard is one of the world’s largest investment management companies, serving more than 50 million investors worldwide. For more than 25 years Vanguard Australia has been supporting individual investors, financial advisers, and superannuation members to achieve their long-term financial goals.
Inclusion Statement
Vanguard’s continued commitment to diversity and inclusion is firmly rooted in our culture. Every decision we make to best serve our clients, crew (internally employees are referred to as crew), and communities is guided by one simple statement: “Do the right thing.” We believe that a critical aspect of doing the right thing requires building diverse, inclusive, and highly effective teams of individuals who are as unique as the clients they serve.
We empower our crew to contribute their distinct strengths to achieving Vanguard’s core purpose through our values.
How We Work
Vanguard has implemented a hybrid working model for the majority of our crew members, designed to capture the benefits of enhanced flexibility while enabling in-person learning, collaboration, and connection. We believe our mission-driven and highly collaborative culture is a critical enabler to support long-term client outcomes and enrich the employee experience.

-
Retirement Support — Retirement support appears unusually strong through a 401(k) design that includes a match plus an additional employer contribution, which can materially lift long-term total rewards. HSA seeding and an enhanced employer match further strengthen the savings-and-benefits value of the package.
-
Wellbeing & Lifestyle Benefits — Wellbeing and lifestyle support is reinforced by a sizable annual FlexFund stipend that can be applied across many day-to-day categories such as fitness, childcare, and other personal expenses. On-site or virtual clinics and fitness options add practical health and wellness convenience.
-
Affordable Benefits — Healthcare and related benefits are positioned as comparatively affordable via heavily subsidized medical plans and broad coverage options. This affordability can offset moderate base pay for employees who place higher value on out-of-pocket cost reductions.
