Communications and Content Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications and Content Specialist to join our team.  Must be a talented storyteller! You will work closely with the leadership team to formulate internal and external communications vision, strategy, messaging, and assets that advance the organization.   

What you’ll do  

• Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy and roadmap for the organization. Align the roadmap with the broader organizational vision.

• Develop and manage core company content messaging and asset development, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand identity across all communications channels including social media.  Support efforts to enhance brand recognition and awareness.  

• Work closely with our internal teams to develop a portfolio of content and stories that speak to different audiences (ex., scientists, engineers, industry practitioners, public sector, educators, etc.)

• Provide communications leadership and expertise to achieve business needs.  Coach and develop team members on communications and media skills including story shaping, executive speechwriting, and key presentation materials.  

• Manage a network of external relevant media and communication partnerships, thought leaders, and other high value partners and channels.  May include managing vendors directly (ex., international PR firms).

• Monitor communications performance, key performance indicators, and data analytics, and adjust strategies as needed to achieve goals

• Maintain the Company’s PR, and communications events calendar and planning of related activities, creation of brand assets and collateral in support of calendar events.

Who you are 

• A gifted storyteller -- truly top end writing abilities and excellent verbal communication/presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across varying audiences

• Experience partnering with senior leadership and executives and delivering key messaging and collateral through different channels and voices.  Executive speechwriting experience preferred.

• Experience developing narratives for diverse audiences and across multiple channels on complex technical or scientific subject matter. Experience as a journalist or publication writer is preferred.

• Experience managing confidential and proprietary information

• Experience in managing projects and programs and capabilities to work through complex scenarios

• Solid planning and organizational skills 

• Strong analytical capabilities – ability to understand and interpret complex ideas and data, and create key performance indicators to understand trends and progress

• Comfortable operating in high pressure situations and events

• Ability to proactively identify opportunities and challenges and build solutions to address needs
