Position Summary:
Oasys is seeking a Communications Specialist to support strategic initiatives. This role will involve creating and managing communications, conducting research, and facilitating engagement efforts that support the program’s mission and goals. The Communications Specialist will work closely with multiple teams to develop and deliver content that aligns with program strategies, tracks campaign effectiveness, and ensures consistent communication across divisions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications and experience in research, stakeholder engagement, and developing content for strategic initiatives. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent writing and organizational skills who can work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research and draft white papers, reports, and other informational materials to inform and support campaign plans.
- Collaborate with divisions to determine engagement scopes and desired outcomes.
- Attend meetings, prepare and distribute meeting minutes, track action items, and handle follow-up communications.
- Ensure comprehensive record-keeping and retention of key information for reference and future initiatives.
- Support the evaluation of campaign plans by developing, tracking, and analyzing performance data.
- Contribute to planning activities that support the execution of program efforts across divisions.
- Develop and publish content that promotes the adoption and implementation of program strategies.
- Create articles, announcements, briefings, white papers, scoping statements, and other communication materials to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Monitor internal communications and engagement efforts, tracking program priorities and strategy changes.
- Facilitate adjustments to communications in response to evolving objectives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content tailored to various audiences, including stakeholders, program leaders, and the public.
- Proficient in technical writing, report development, and editing, with strong attention to detail to ensure all content is accurate, polished, and professional.
- Skilled in creating various communication materials, including white papers, briefings, articles, and presentations that align with program goals.
- Experience developing content to promote complex strategies, policies, and initiatives in a way that is accessible and impactful.
- Strong research skills to gather, analyze, and synthesize information on cybersecurity and critical infrastructure topics.
- Capable of transforming research findings into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations for strategic communications.
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups, including government entities, industry partners, and internal teams.
- Skilled in fostering relationships, understanding stakeholder needs, and ensuring consistent communication across all parties involved in program initiatives.
- Familiarity with campaign tracking methods and performance data analysis.
- Able to gather and interpret data to evaluate communication effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations to enhance engagement strategies.
- Skilled in facilitating meetings, capturing critical information, and distributing accurate summaries and action items.
- Experienced in managing and cataloging documentation, ensuring all records are organized, accessible, and retained for future reference.
- Strong organizational skills demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of meeting tight deadlines and delivering high-quality work under time constraints.
- Proactive and adaptable, able to pivot quickly in response to changing program needs and priorities.
- Takes initiative to identify communication gaps and propose solutions to enhance program engagement and effectiveness.
- Understanding federal policies related to national security, critical infrastructure, and cybersecurity and familiarity with 508-compliance standards for accessible public communications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for drafting, presenting, and analyzing documents and data.
- Familiarity with content management and design tools, such as Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, or Canva, and web content management systems for publishing public-facing materials is a plus.
- Basic data visualization and graphic design knowledge, with the ability to create infographics, charts, and visuals that support and enhance written content.
- Ability to translate complex data into visually appealing, easy-to-understand formats.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a relevant field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in communications, writing, or a related field, with experience working directly with stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience supporting federal programs or initiatives in cybersecurity, national security, or critical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with national policies related to critical infrastructure and cybersecurity.
- Experience developing communication plans, crafting strategic content, and supporting public-facing initiatives.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability clearance.
