You will demonstrate your engineering skills and by leveraging the firm’s technology centric competitive edge you will work with design engineers, vendors, contractors, and client personnel to design, test, make operational, optimize, and validate Electrical systems in multiple 24x7 mission critical plants, pharmaceutical, healthcare, power generation or similar environments.

Job Responsibilities
This position will involve developing and coordinating functional testing of multi-stack equipment and multi-redundant system configurations within a trade. You will review criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning.
Additional Responsibilities:
- (PM) - Coordinates with accounting to prepare monthly project invoices. Monitors project accounts receivable and contacts the client as needed to expedite payment.
- Addresses Risk Management issues on Projects
- Continuously build a strong Networking system within SHG and in the marketplace
- Controlling and optimizing project financials including billing and collections
- Coordinates and assigns various tasks to be performed by the commissioning team (i.e., specification development, commissioning plan development, test script development)
- Cross-sell all Syska services throughout client organization locally and geographically
- Ensuring optimal project information flow (internally and externally)
- Establishes commissioning standards, specifications, and criteria for projects
- Generate new sales.
- Lead QA/QC process on the projects.
- Leads and supervises staff members as they perform their tasks.
- Leads Technical Delivery of the Project
- Maintains interdisciplinary coordination with other trades/projects consultants.
- Manage Project Scope in proposal. Identify "Scope-Creep" addressing with client in a timely manner.
- Manages commissioning duties, such as issue reports, issues resolutions, contractor submittals and design drawings etc.
- Monitors all correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, Owners, etc.
- Must work closely with trade specific project engineers to ensure all the items above are delivered in a coordinated product.
- Negotiate contracts.
- Overall responsibility for staff resources on projects
- Participates in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
- Prepares proposals and administer project contracts between SHG and the client, including Add Service Agreements
- Supervises and leads commissioning meetings and develop scripts.
- Supervises preparation of reports and analysis of results of the commissioning efforts
- Understanding and managing client expectations; Tight project schedule control
- Writes proposals for large scale project
- Supervises 3 – 4 employees, leads CXA or Project Manager for Project Net earned fees of $1.5M
Job Requirements
To succeed in this role, your experience would include commissioning or designing of large Mechanical systems for industrial, datacenter, pharmaceutical processes, or laboratory clean rooms. Your technical strengths must be complemented by self-motivation, relationship building skills, and effective communication skills.
Commissioning Engineer requirements:
- BSME degree preferred but will substitute significant years of experience for exceptional candidates. This experience would include commissioning or designing of large HVACsystems for industrial, datacenter, pharmaceutical processes, or laboratory clean rooms.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Possesses a complete knowledge of the construction process (Bid Process, Changer Orders, RFI’s, Addenda, Bulletins)
- Possesses strong interpersonal relationship skills and strong communications skills both verbal, written and presentation.
- Exhibits thorough understanding of applicable codes.
- Exhibits strong desire to increase skills and knowledge through additional training.
- Demonstrates ability to understand the work of the other trades.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
- The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively.
- Experience with ASHRAE, BCxA, and/or PECI Cx and RETRO-Cx procedures and protocols, a plus
- QCxP certification required, or PE is preferred.

The salary range listed below is for this particular job posting. Actual pay range for candidates will be commensurate with candidate’s experience, skillsets and competencies and may differ based on the cost of labor in their particular location.
