Stark & Stark is actively recruiting an associate attorney for our Hamilton, NJ, office to handle commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, be self-directed and detail-oriented, and have the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: 

The position will be responsible for all phases of commercial, real estate, and creditors’ rights litigation, with an emphasis on drafting pleadings; conducting written discovery; taking and defending depositions; and handling oral motion hearings. Experience handling real estate lease disputes, equipment lease disputes, bank workouts, commercial foreclosures replevin actions and bankruptcy litigation is a plus.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A background in real estate litigation and creditors’ rights litigation is ideal; experience with real estate and equipment lease disputes is a plus.  
  • Three to five years of experience in commercial real estate and/or creditors’ rights litigation.
  • Must have three to five years of trial experience, including trying two cases to conclusion (first or second chair).
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Possess superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Exercise judgment and the ability to work autonomously and as an effective member of a team.

Intellectual curiosity and the ability to solve problems independently.

Admission to the Pennsylvania bar is required. Admission to the New Jersey bar is a plus, and admission to the New York bar is also a bonus.
