Responsibilities:

Conceptual Design:

  • Confer with Account Managers, Project Managers, and/or Clients to determine the purpose and function of the environment, budget, scope of the project, time schedules, project proposals, and types of furniture and equipment to be installed.
  • Develop innovative and functional interior design concepts that align with the client's brand identity, culture, and business objectives.
  • Render schematic designs, create working drawings, product specifications, illustrations, material estimates and costs, and create an Approval Package for client review and approval.

Project Collaboration:

  • Advise project teams and/or clients on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, color coordination, and local building codes.

Space Planning:

  • Integrate findings with knowledge of interior design to formulate environmental plans that are practical, aesthetically pleasing, and conducive to intended purposes, such as raising productivity, selling merchandise, or improving office efficiency.
  • Efficiently plan and optimize commercial spaces to enhance workflow, productivity, and user experience.
  • Translate client feedback into design revisions and present updated design solutions.

Material and Finish Selection:

  • Source and select appropriate materials and finishes that align with the design concept, budget, and durability requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative materials into designs.

Administrative Management:

  • Maintain design project files, time entries, and proper coding of work performed, including records of all key decisions, phone conversations, approvals, and notes from project planning meetings.
  • Attend all weekly design/team meetings and seminars as required/requested.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience as a Commercial Interiors Designer with a portfolio of projects in corporate, healthcare, or higher education sectors is preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Configura (CET).
  • Excellent communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
  • Familiarity with commercial furniture lines is preferred.

Pluses:

  • Familiarity with Allsteel / Gunlocke product lines and other HNI lines
  • Current and Valid National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NICDQ) certification.
