Stone Kite is a world building studio that thoughtfully develops heroic universes across games, film, TV, comics, audio, and more. Built by veterans from game and entertainment studios such as Marvel, Disney, Pixar, Bungie, and Riot, our team leverages expertise and passion to build worlds that matter.
We’re looking for an innovative self-starter to join our team as a World Incubation Art Intern. Reporting to the SVP, IP Incubation, you will have the opportunity to impact a world building studio during our most foundational incubation phase. You will gain hands-on experience supporting studio projects and learn from industry experts.
This is a part-time temporary role located onsite at our Santa Monica HQ.
What You’ll Do
Asset Management
- Streamline digital and physical folder structures, and audit and align all naming conventions
- Work with the World Assistant to keep the Comics and Visual Art Log updated with all incoming assets
- Work with Lore team to update and keep current all lore and assets databases
- Partner with World Team to keep World Incubation board updated
- Gather materials for weekly and monthly studio workshare, and design workshare deck
Narrative
- Narrative proof-reading and copy-editing
- Write lore strings for in-universe weapons, environments, and objects
- Write project briefs
- Draft lore database entries for review by the Lore team
- Note taking for project teams as needed
- Research and reference gathering for project teams, including art and real world comparisons
What You’ll Bring
Education and Experience
- Enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college program as a rising Junior or Senior
- Studying Writing, Fine Arts, Illustration, Animation, or any other related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Driven and proactive with a desire to work at and contribute to a startup environment
- Practiced documentation skills
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office

Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is $18.00 per hour. Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications. If we extend an offer for employment, we will consider all individual qualifications.
