All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.
Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.
The School Onboarding Specialist provides customer service support to the schools, helps the school through their onboarding and provides information and feedback to the school after the account is initiated.
Responsibilities- Manage middle schools onboarding as they begin their partnership with JerseySTEM.
- Effectively communicate with school liaisons to assist in the onboarding process
- Partner with other team members before, during and after the onboarding process to ensure effective program set-up
- Help the school process:
- The Memorandum of Understanding
- The parents flyers
- The students roster
Attend virtual team meetings weekly : (Sundays 6pm-6:30pm EST)
- Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap
- Ability to establish and maintain connections with area schools
- Resourceful, can-do attitude
- Experience with K-12 schools as a parent, former student professionally
- Outreach experience preferred
- Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)
- Would be a plus if candidate has flexible schedule to allow for day time calls with the school admins during the work week
Time Commitment
- 3-6 Hours weekly
- 6 months minimum
