CNC Machinist

As a CNC Machinist at Kurt J. Lesker Company, you’ll manufacture precision, engineered‑to‑order components where accuracy, craftsmanship, and problem‑solving matter. In this hands‑on role, you’ll set up and operate vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines, machining complex metallic and non‑metallic parts to tight tolerances.

This position is ideal for an experienced CNC Machinist who enjoys challenging work, collaborating with engineering, and producing high‑quality custom parts in a low‑volume, high‑mix manufacturing environment.
Job Details: 

• Type of Employment: Full-time
• Location: Jefferson Hills, PA
• Division/Department: Manufacturing/Machine Shop
• Reports to: CNC Supervisor
• Pay: Up to $33/hour, based on experience 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Perform complex machining operations on CNC milling machines (vertical and horizontal)
• Read, understand, and troubleshoot G‑code
• Mentor and support other machinists in resolving complex machining challenges
• Apply extensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Produce quality parts efficiently while meeting production schedules
• Verify conformance of finished parts using precision measuring instruments
• Collaborate with Machinists, Engineers, and Project Managers to solve problems and improve processes
• Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and shop standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

• 4–8 years of CNC machining experience in a machine shop environment
  OR completion of Journeyman papers plus 2 years of experience
• Advanced knowledge of CNC machining techniques and milling practices
• Strong machinist math skills, including trigonometry and geometry
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and GD&T
• Proficient with precision measuring tools
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs unassisted
• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

• Experience with 3+2 axis machining
• Experience using Mastercam
• CNC programming experience or capability
• Associate’s degree in a related technical field
